While I'm proud of the work that Rob, Mike, Cindy and the team have done thus far in the season; I don't believe a win over Pittsburgh will 'jump' them two slots in the polls for an 8 seed.

RE a top 8 seed:
UT is #7 in the RPI ratings (11/22 ratings). And as champions of the SEC (#3 rated conference by RPI), they may have already been ahead of a couple teams for seeding purposes.
Go Vols!

Go Vols! If Tennessee hosts, will the fans show up though? Up until this season, Florida was the only SEC team that consistantly drew strong crowds. I hope so, UTs had a great season.

Go Vols! The RPI loves the SEC this year. It's an interesting question, how seriously is the committee going to take the RPI view of the SEC? If they take it to heart, the SEC can get 5 teams in (Tenn, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas). OTOH, if they don't believe it, it could be only the top two. How the committee treats the SEC this year will tell us a lot about what they think of RPI.

I'm not sure how to figure the RPI out. Georgia and Arkansas received bids along with Florida and UTs automatic Bid giving the SEC 4 teams.
Alabama is the odd team out, probably because they lost all of their 6 matches vs these 4 teams(?).
However, RPI ranks Florida #5 and UT #7. The NCAA selection committee gave UT the #12 seed, and did not give Florida a top 16 seed. Florida has to go to Florida A&M for game #1 and #11 Stanford IF they can beat Florida A&M.
Arkansas gets #16 Missouri and Georgia gets to play Ga Tech again (Ga Tech just beat them 3-0 last week).
I like where Tennessee stands now. They earned the top 16 seed and get to play the 1st 2 at home. Now it's up to UT to prove to the volleyball world they belong with the elite programs!
Go Vols!
