The biggest decision and recruit, Robyn ever made in her young Head Coaching career, was to bring Coach Ang, back to the Islands. Making Coach Ang, her Top Assistant in the process. Coach Ang, I truly believe, played a Big Part, in the recruitment of Hanna Hellvig, and now Anna Kiralyi. Not to mention, figuring out this RPI scheduling thing.

After the 2019 season is pau, I hope Braelyn get to work immediately and try and prep for being an OH. She has the athletic ability to do it but she is going to have to put in the work since she did not do much, if any passing, as a Kamehameha Warrior. Emily Hartong was an MB coming into the UH program and developed into an AA as an OH. Braelyn can do the same. If she can get the passing part down.
Braelyn's progress is key because we have two OHs who are prone to injury(BVS and JR) and one who plays better as on OPP(Hellvig). Tiff looks more like an OPP than an OH so I am assuming Tiff will train at MB/OPP. Unless we use the one remaining scholarship for an OH, Braelyn might be counted on to be what Mckenna Ross is doing this year.

First thing that ran in my mind when I watched her run the slide: "that looks like Amber".... Kaufmann was one of my favorite players to watch; if Kiraly is a stud and can provide a resemblance of results: we won't have to worry about the middles for a while.

There are times when she is either too early or too late to the ball. She has the athleticism. Her mom was 5'8 and touches 10'5, if she is anywhere near that than that's an added bonus.

I think OPP is only the spot for Hanna this year because it takes passing pressure off of her. She’s still a pretty damn good passer for a 6’3-4ish freshman and it only makes sense to keep developing her there on the left. I don’t see the sense in saying Westerberg will slot in as a Leftside. If anything she’s going to be a 6 rotation OPP in the future but definitely not a primary passing Outside Hitter. Plus the ability to hit the slide and her block vs Akana’s seems like between the 2 Tiff would be an Opp and Akana an OH. Akana seems more mobile as well which would be more necessary as a passer. I think next year that Middle depth drops down to Igiede, Williams, Krug, Kiraly.
Theres at least 2 different Power 5 conference schools that will have an excess of setters, with Top Recruit Freshman coming in so I think it’s likely we get a good transfer setter.
Riley and BVS should both be looked at as Liberos next year, Kyra is a great DS but I don’t think the range and control is there to help a team be NC caliber as compared to the other 2 who can hit when they aren’t Libero. Unless Via is a dark horse/surprise type she’ll likely be a serving sub. Both Riley and BVS are more than decent OH2 but with inconsistent offense and suspect health respectively, I think they help the team even more as libs.
Honestly difficult to even think of a lineup with Jolie in it. Gotta look at the players who have the better possibility of staying healthy. Maybe if she has an injury free Sand season, or rehabs and trains it will be more of scenario worth entertaining

I am thinking, Anna looks more like her coach to be, Angelica Ljungqvist. If she can come even close to Angelica, the Wahine have someone very special.

Hanawahine, is a liability at serve receive from watching that match. She is not quite there, and I could see why she didn't play at Oregon. Her serve though is very good. I agree with you on BVS and Riley to be looked at next season at Libero, more so Wagoner.

Wow RAM and company are really building towards the future. A couple of studs and there is nothing more complementary than a setter and middle connection. Hopefully they use the final scholarship on a transfer setter? It seems Hawaii is piled with arms in every attacking department. However that can all be wasted if the key pass and serve is not available.

Nice additions to the team. Now we need another transfer setter with D1 experience and an outside to compliment Hanna. I know JR will probably be back but she’s so injury prone anything can happen. We won’t have Norene to bail us out of trouble next season and can’t depend on Brooke to take her role. A good left side terminator will be needed.

Kiraly is a jumper! Good arm, got the shot repertoire, big bloc, tough serve. Damn we scored! Lang looks solid too. Let’s land that 2nd setter!

Two more scholarships to give? Was Hanawahine not on scholarship?

I saw in the video Anna going on a service run. Her approach serving also looks a little Kaufmann like, though her ball doesn't drop across the net quite like Amber's. I'll never forget the match she lit up Washington behind the service line.
