WIth the win over UW and the loss to WSU, where should USC belong. I cannot forsee them surpassing Washington . Would they move up in rankings or drop in the rankings? Any theories?

Tough call, but I doubt the loss would drop them out of the top 10, perhaps a couple of spots down to #8.
The USC loss to WSU not only minimizes USC's defeat of UW it magnifies UW's loss to USC which could potentially drop UW out of he top 4.

I'm thinking USC's loss to WSU has more impact than their win over Washington. USC drops 2 spots but still a 5-12. UW drops only 1 (if that) but still stays a #1 seed. WSU moves into the top-100.

I think U$C should be ranked one spot below the Vandals. ;D ;D

Washington was only 50 points ahead of Penn State which had a dominant weekend so I'd be surprised they didn't drop at least one spot. They were "only" 170 points ahead of Minnesota and it isn't uncommon for a team to drop at least 100 point after even a close loss. It would depend on how many of those point the Gophers pick up. With USC losing to Washington State there will be additional point that the Gophers could gain - though Stanford and other teams will probably pick up some of those points as well.

In other years it would certainly be unthinkable, however, this year with so many chaotic things happening anything could happen.
Washington had 5 first place votes in the previous poll so they're going to definitely lose points.
It all depends on how much the various voters drop Washington and how many of the points that will be lost by Washington and USC the Gophers pick up.
I don't think there is a high percentage change that Washington will move out of the top 4, however, it is definitely possible and if they don't drop out of the top 4 the Gophers will be very close behind them in the #5 spot after sweeping Illinois at Illinois which no other team has done this year.

I thought Washington was the PAC 10 champion in 2004. Are you talking about 2003? Nope. We're talking about UW, not USC. USC wasn't IN the top 4. I have to re-do my rankings! When I did them last night, USC and LBSU had not lost. Grumble grumble.

WSU moves into the top-100. Hooray! We EARNED that spot, hombre. By the way #224 over #6... can anyone think of a bigger upset? I think USC and UW both only drop one spot. I know that sounds ludicrous, but I think the voters recognize both losses are due to your standard Pac-10 cannibalism.

If you aren't going to dance, that is definitely the way to end the season!

At this point in the season, rankings don't matter much. This will probably hurt SC's seed a little but don't know if that too will matter much. This is still a very good volleyball team, albeit a little inconsistent by the looks of it.
Congrats to Wazzu.
