If i'm not mistaken, aren't AA's selected from their all regional teams? And is it possible for a player to make the all regional 1st team even if they only made their conference 2nd team?

The answer is yes....not all conferences have a 1st and 2nd team, like the Big West...I am sure that some probably even have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team as well.

Unless they changed the rules, only players named to a regional first-team are eligible for AA.

Is there a regional first team? Or is it just an all regional team? Oh well, I'm just waiting around for the tournament selection show.

There is an all-regional team and there are the names of "Honorable Mention" players. This was the 2003 Western Region list: West Region Erin Cartwright-Davis Utah State University MB Sr. Melissa Courtney Colorado State University S Jr. Kristen Fenton ** Fresno State OH Jr. Jennifer Fopma ** Cal State Northridge MB Sr. Anna Marie Hammond University of Idaho MB Sr. Jennifer Joines **** University of the Pacific MB Sr. Lily Kahumoku *** University of Hawai'i OH Sr. Kanoe Kamana'o University of Hawai'i S Fr. Katie Jo Shirley Colorado State University MB Jr. Kim Turner *** University of Utah MB Sr. Kim Willoughby *** University of Hawai'i OH Sr. Kelly Wing University of California Irvine OH Jr. West Region Freshman of the Year: Kanoe Kamana'o, Hawai'i, OH Honorable Mention: Hayley Anderson (Pacific, S, Jr.), Megan Blackshire (UC Santa Barbara, MB, So.), Erika Chidester (Long Beach State, OH, Jr.), Lauren Duggins (University of Hawai'i, MB, Sr.), Lindsy Hartsock (Brigham Young, MB, Fr.), Jackie Morrill (Utah, DS/Lib, Sr.)

I wonder if the committee again will (and hope they don't) just lump all the all-region AA's onto the AA Honorable Mention list.
I'd be fine with just the degrees of AA teams. It's kind of understood that the all-region AA's are in that HM category.
In a way the regional FOYs are the default all-freshman team. But I'd also like to see them put together a true All-Frosh team, regardless of region.
