The question was posed earlier about who Texas plays...Texas State (Southland Conference Champion, who are literally down the road from the Longhorns).

Alright Nevada! I'm glad the USF game didn't cost them. UCSB fans- What's Wichita State like?

I heard that the Thunderdome was not available that weekend.

Zook, people who are familiar with those two teams wouldn't consider that much of an upset (FWIW).

I heard that the Thunderdome was not available that weekend. That is correct, we are the seed but not the host. Read Chris Austin's comment about that on the Loco board if you haven't.

Interesting first round matches:
Nevada/Wichita St - I've said before that the MVC is the WAC if you replace Hawaii with Drake. THerefore, a good WAC team against the top Valley team is intriguing.
Illinois/Louisville: a rematch of last year's second round match, but a very different Illinois team without Argabright or Virtue
Ohio/Pitt: How legit is Ohio? Pitt struggled at the end, and how good really is the Big East?
Minnesota: given pretty much a cakewalk to the regionals at home
Notre Dame/Valpo: Isn't that a rematch? Valpo beat them earlier this year, I think
Florida/FAMU: you realize that matched against the #11 seed, this makes one of these two teams #22?
LBSU vs Utah: How good is that Mountain West? Pablo hates Utah for some reason.
Maryland vs Towson: a good opportunity for Towson to make a move

"LBSU vs Utah: How good is that Mountain West? Pablo hates Utah for some reason."
The Beachless has already beaten them once.

You want to talk about screwed? How about Stanford? If they get pass their first round opponent, they get to face either FAMU or Florida. Yeah, like that's fair. At least they don't open with either team. FAMU and Florida are more screwed, having to face each other, then Stanford for the winner. That is clearly, without a doubt, the toughest mini bracket in the country. 3 top 25 teams, does any other bracket have that? How many brackets have just 1 ranked team? What a crock to those 3 teams. I knew FAMU would be paired with Florida, just didn't think it'd be in the 1st round.

Another rematch...
I hate when the committee does that.

BTW, that Tennessee/Texas A&M match, if it happens, looks to be very interesting.

Was it last year or two years ago when the committee matched up UCLA and Long Beach State in the first round? That was a pretty crappy thing to do (IMHO).
