Indeed! With the addition of Acevedo, I think Keegan will most likely try to pick up one OH, one or two MBs, and an in-state DS/L for the ‘26 class. He will probably try to pick up a junior transfer setter for the 25 season. Acevedo left Oregon because she was “recruited over” by Ullmer’s staff. I think the verdict is still out on Minnesota’s future. If this is true, I wonder what won her over at Minnesota. She had options but chose a team with ALL the pins where the road to playing time isn’t as direct as it could have been at a different school. That leads me to think her decision was based on something more than just a starting spot. Whatever it is, I’m very happy to have her. Sure, the jury’s still out on what Minnesota’s future looks like but it’s certainly trending in a positive direction.

But Acevedo is unproven???

Depth but lack of starting experience going into this season. With Wookie's struggles and Stella projected to be the starting setter, will '26' be her year? Wucherer will be graduating in ‘25, unless you’re talking about Stella. I think every year will be Stella’s year TBH 😂 Meant '25' not '26'...my bad!

I’m hoping this year if her year to really breakout! But from what I saw from the Euro trip, she is still a little hot and cold. When she’s on, she’s on. I have and always will be a Wucherer fan. She can be electric. Maybe Stella can really bring that out of her!

I think the verdict is still out on Minnesota’s future. Yeah that’s part of what makes Acevedo’s transfer interesting to me. The timing of her transferring out after their spring game and Ohwobete coming in felt like it was because she was recruited over, but then idk that Minnesota is the most logical place for a guaranteed starting role. The Oregon thread was speculating early that she might go to maybe a slightly lower ranked school where she’d be assumed to get immediate playing time. Not that Minnesota’s lineup is set in stone but with Wucherer presumed to be the default starter and Hanson having the NCAA experience and the superior back row play to Acevedo (and we know KCook loves his 6 ro outsides), I don’t think Acevedo’s odds are any better here in terms of starting. She seems to be 3rd on the depth chart at both schools. I feel like that would indicate the transfer might have more to do with the intangible factors like chemistry, location, coaching, and/or Thibault’s transfer. Maybe she sees how hard KCook works to develop his outsides. Of course, she could always turn out to be the dynamite arm some speculate she will be and earn an immediate spot. We’ll see.

Yeah it certainly appears that it’s more than just playing time. She was quoted that the U and the volleyball program has everything she is looking for. Maybe there were something missing at Oregon.

She may have graduated high school from Idaho (I'm not sure when her family moved but it was in High School as she used to play for NPJ), but she grew up in Bend, was a long time ducks fan at an early age, and committed when she was in 7th grade. It's obvious she had an emotional attachment to Oregon (I recall something to that affect when she committed years ago). She's not the first player to let "emotions" (for a lack of a better word) drive a future decision regarding college commitments, only to mature and realize that her actual objective goals may not jive with a decision made years ago.

Based on the interview that was just released, I think you are spot on with the “emotional” reason/attachement to a certain school at such young age. Good for her to realize that and be okay with the change and look for what she really wants.
