Sarah Pavan - University of Nebraska

Sarah Pavan, a 6-5 freshman right side/opposite hitter for top-ranked University of Nebraska (27-1, 20-0 Big 12), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week after leading the Huskers to sweeps over 18th-ranked Texas A&M and 11th-ranked Texas. Pavan averaged 7.00 points, 5.83 kills, 1.83 blocks and 1.17 digs per game while hitting .455 on 66 attacks. She hit .529 against Texas A&M with 20 kills on 34 attempts and two hitting errors. Pavan, who now has six 20-plus kill matches this season, added three digs and two blocks in the victory over the Aggies. She contributed 15 kills, four digs and nine blocks versus Texas. Pavan hit .375 in the match against the Longhorns and helped to hold Big 12 Player of the Year Mira Topic to a season-low six kills. She increased her season averages to 5.38 points, 4.50 kills and 1.22 blocks per game, while improving her season attack percentage to .326. Pavan helped the Huskers to an undefeated Big 12 season and the top seed in the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament. She is the seventh Husker in school history to earn the national award. The Nebraska head coach is John Cook.
