Winning a game against Stanford is always a good start for COY recognition. Not noticeably. Look at last year. Only one coach in the conference beat Stanford, and it wasn't COY Mark Barnard. Which should tell you something about how bad that decision was last year

I know this isn't the strongest year we have ever seen from the PAC but really if you weren't going to give it to Hambly who would you give it to. Hambly is getting a little roasted but take one look at USC and see that inheriting a wealth of talent doesn't always equate to winning easy and often. Stanford wasn't challenged in the PAC against a lot of really good teams. The conference was also banged up so many key injuries sidelined too many elite athletes for good teams which is unfortunate. Should pick up next year. I have no qualms with Hambly winning COY cause if not him who? My second vote would go to Greeney for navigating conference and protecting home court they only lost to Arizona and Stanford at home this season thats pretty impressive and I don't think many anticipating them being as good as they are.

Greeney is a decent choice, but she already won two years ago for "Wow, somebody managed to win at WSU". Seems too soon for a repeat. I do think that Cook should have won already by now, but this wasn't the year for it. Maybe Ulmer? He did get the Ducks into second place, even if it felt like they were wildly inconsistent.

A little surprised Jenna Gray is the only player to make ALL PAC these hitters must all be setting themselves. I think they should have maybe thrown Lazaro or Powell on there they are really good but I guess when looking at wins and losses you would have to wonder.

I know this but I think the PAC has some really good setters that go overlooked is the only point I was trying to make. Also I agree Cook should have maybe gotten COY already although the years he lost its not like he was entirely jobbed out of the award. But I don't think Ulmer has been deserving I feel like his team has underperformed if anything I thought Oregon or USC was going to be second in the PAC but in dominant fashion and pepper in a couple losses but that just didn't hold true both teams have been very injury ridden which didn't help eithers case losing as much as they did. I do applaud Ulmer though for taking a loss in the mountains to teach his players a lesson cause he didn't need to do that he could have put the best team on the floor to win and he didn't so that is admirable.

Only a trained gerbil could have coached his team to 20-0 in PAC-12, and to #1 overall seed in NCAA tourney. smh ... and the alternative to Hambly would have finished at least 7 games back in one of the, if not the, most elite conferences in VB.

You are familiar with the Greek word hubris? Also an English word for some time now, but kudos for not thinking it's French. I don't know I would consider it an English word. It behaves more like a foreign word. Could you say you "are hubrising"? Or that you saw two "hubrises" yesterday? Words that have been fully adopted into English can get regular English grammar applied to them, but words that are still just borrowed from other languages tend to be resistant.

Pride is singular, never plural, unless talking about lions. Conceit, on the other hand...
