Change is coming, but not the change everyone is clamoring for... Which of his assistants is getting thrown under the bus? Exactly.

But it's not like LBSU, where the Power 5 ascension has pushed them out. UCLA is still in the PAC 12, still in Los Angeles, still a great school. Which is really the crux of the problem. The entire landscape is NOT equal, because of the power five conference bias. And even though the damage has been done to former top ten schools such as former Champs LBSU, Pacific, Hawai’i, the future could reverse it by finding a more level system that would spread the wealth around, both in resources and talent. Bias? You mean the kids who want to go to schools with the most name recognition, the schools that really sell their academics and who also just happen to have high quality athletics programs? Here in Wisconsin HS seniors who are serious about academics are not looking at LaCrosse, UW-Stout or UW-Green Bay first, they are looking at Madison who happens to be in a P5 conference. LBSU and Pacific are fine colleges but they do not have the same name recognition as USC, UCLA, Stanford.

Yeah, I would guess this "Sealy fired" talk is exclusive to Volleytalk. I can't imagine anyone in the Athletic Department at UCLA has even whispered it in private. oh, it is on the UCLA 247 site also.

UCLA ran into some scheduling issues this year. For some reason they had a whole early weekend where they chose to play Cal Poly twice -- and lost both of them.

While the name recognition may not be the same, maybe recruits should look at Payscale .com as part of the recruiting process. Mid Career pay: Stanford 143k USC 122k UCLA 118.5k Cal poly 118k UCSB 122k

Which of his assistants is getting thrown under the bus? The fattest one. I looked up the UCLA coaching staff and I can't figure out which one is the "fattest one."

Maybe Bruin fans think their AD is named Lynn Swann and would fire a volleyball coach simply for having one bad year.Of course , it’s silly to make a decision to fire someone over one bad season but you never know what happens behind the scene. Maybe Karch Kiraly wants the job and this would be a good time to give it to him. Karch would defiantly bring a new sense of excitement to the program with his storied background. Bad Year? I agree with your overall point, but let's not change history. The Swann "cowardly" phone call came after a pre-season non ranked team was two points from the final four.

Mixck wasn't fired for wins/losses. He was fired for the terrible culture of the WVB program under his final years there.

Fat-shaming, if that is indeed what he does, is terrible but I personally wouldn't mind if others tried to shame me for being overweight. I would be so enraged and angry that I would be motivated to lose weight, eat right, and beef up. Rage and anger are great motivators. Besides, people should stay slim, if biologically possible, for health reasons.
