they're awesome books. you should read them too. But what makes you think I haven't read them? because you asked the question. i thought perhaps you also had not read them.

Look man, you need to find something else to take out your frustrations than posting on VT. Like try to do yoga. Or exercise, running and swimming does wonder to your mood. Or eat healthy. Everything except posting on VT.

resident evil movies are not turkeys. That's a matter of personal opinion. Many consider them to be awful movies. That's the beauty of having your own opinion. If you like it then you like it. I liked the Resident Evil movies...mainly because I never played the games or were familiar with the storyline. Still don't understand the criticism for Man of Steel, BvS and Green Lantern...thought they were good. Would have loved to see the continuation of Green Lantern (even if you replace Ryan Reynolds) after seeing Sinestro put on the Yellow ring.

A 21st century take on the whole thing by focusing more on the "alien" aspect than the traditional stories. Batman v. Superman was just plain a lousy movie. The plot sucked, the dialog sucked, the fight scenes were generic. Gal Godot's Wonder Woman was the best part of the movie and she was barely in it. Wonder Woman, on the other hand, was a fine movie. I didn't see Green Lantern.

Watching Tomb Raider (2018) right now. It's not exactly a masterpiece of cinema, but it's decent. I was surprised that they spent about 1/3 of the film just getting Lara to the island. I guess they really, really wanted to establish Lara's character and background because they knew that she's really the only important character in the movie.

The 2018 Tomb Raider is actually a decent action movie as far as video game movie goes. Maybe not the very best in the action genre but certainly entertaining and watchable. It has a sort of Indiana Jones vibe to it. No not as good as the Indiana films of course, but I thought it deserved a better reception than what it got. I have a nagging feeling the critics dismissed it simply because it was based on a video game.

Just watched Ready Player One. Very unique, and fun in many ways. At the end of the movie I wondered how much in licensing fees did they pay to use characters and likenesses from so many different games, movies, etc...like HALO, Mortal Kombat, Back to the Future,DC Comics, Mecha-Godzilla, evil Chucky, the Shining.

Aquaman is notorious for being the lamest superhero.
"What are your powers?"
"I can breathe underwater. And I can talk to fish."
Somehow DC felt like of all their characters they could bring in to their movies after Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, it should be Aquaman.

From a review of the new movie: "As for Momoa himself, the actor simply lacks the material to turn the character into much more than a heavy metal punchline. Regularly gazing over his shoulder as his flowing hair makes room for his eyes, he looks as though he’s perpetually auditioning for an AXE Body Spray campaign targeting Navy SEALs."

Had to babysit my nephew on the weekend so took him to see saw Sonic and was surprised at the enjoyable and fun viewing experience I had. As a kid-centric film, my nephew naturally loved it, but the adults in the audience also had a good time. My expectations were low given that it is a video game-based movie so that might have helped. It's not Oscar-winning material by any means, but the fact that it is worth watching should not be underestimated given the generally poor reception of the genre. The only other recent video-game adaptation that had a decent reception was Detective Pickachu. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film barely was in positive territory (63%), that alone is a feat given the rotten score meted out to video game movies in general, but the barely positive score does lent weight to my suspicion that reviewers in general have a biased against any video game movie on principle.
