Huh. I adapted to Wisconsin ok, although I still don't get the drinking culture. When we moved to Wisconsin a few years ago, I remember going to a bar, and there were toddlers on the barstools. "Kiddy cocktail, please!" Super weird. It really is a problem. There is no alcohol in the "kiddie cocktail."

Kraft is from Seattle so she's used to dreary weather.

There is no alcohol in the "kiddie cocktail." Uh, yeah, I know. lol In other states, kids are allowed in bars, let alone sitting right at the bar. It is so ingrained in the culture of Wisconsin that it is normal to see kids sitting at a bar. That really is not the norm.

It is so ingrained in the culture of Wisconsin that it is normal to see kids sitting at a bar. That really is not the norm. That mostly comes from the basic fact that in a lot of Wisconsin, the only restuarants are bars. Either you let kids come in, or no family can go out to eat. Yes, it's ridiculous that bars are the norm, but let's not equate a family going out to eat normally with anything else.

I feel like I might be going crazy, or maybe I've been through the whole "who gets a seed - who hosts a regional - who plays where?" rigamarole one too many times. I'm just having a hard time caring what seed the badgers are this year.
Maybe it's a sign of confidence. I just want the badgers to play well, and I think they can do that anywhere (well, except maybe that new place in Columbus.)
And also I just want know where I have to go to see them!

I’m curious as to who you all think has been the most improved player on the team this year? I thought the answer would be Molly Haggerty. She’s playing at such a high level now compared to how she started the season. But Danielle Hart has been so much better lately. I’m not sure which one of those two I would pick.
I think the most surprising player on the team has been Izzy Ashburn. I had no idea she would be this good and play such a significant role on the team. Her ability to take a second contact when Hilley takes the first has been really, really good. She plays that Courtney Thomas role well. We really missed that the last couple of years. Her serving has been quite good too.

OTOH, Loberg at the beginning of the season looked like a lost cause and someone who had hit her ceiling. But the lightbulb went off in the Big Ten season. Ashburn is like the Haleigh Nelson of 2013 in terms of what the team thought they were getting. In fact so much so that Hammill is expected to red shirt because Ashburn has been so good. So I would also agree Ashburn most surprising.

I do not want them playing Stanford. I don't think that's a good formula for us. Big right side block going up against Loberg and Haggerty. Big block for Madison. Great pin hitting has traditionally spelled trouble for us and they don't get much better than KP. That and history is against us.

I tell you what, though. Madison Duello is playing some inspired volleyball this past weekend. It's like she's realized her college days are numbered and she's making the best of it. We couldn't have done this weekend without her.

Agree ^^. She was on a mission. Nice little weekend for Rettke and Hilley as well. Rettke: 4.5 kills/set @.531% and 2.5 blocks/set Hilley: 15.2 assists/set, 2.5 digs/set and team hit .366 on the weekend I'll take it

Yeah, I am speaking from a position of privilege, or rather lack of privilege, not being in Madison. Looks like I won't even get to see them at Rutgers this year because I have to be on the road for T-day. Was hoping to make it for Nebraska match, but work intervened yet again, with vengeance.

I mean, we might be able to make it happen, but we don't have childcare for that weekend, and I have a work trip the first part of that week and a board meeting the night before the Sweet 16. Rainbowmom is taking Rainbowkiddo for the weekend so Rainbowspouse and I can go to Pittsburgh, though, so I can't really complain.
