It's still not a lock that Caesar plays next year. Would love to be a fly on the wall during their conference call Yeah it is. quick question. SO new NCAA rules lets players transfer where they want. That doesn't trump conference rules does it? So SEC can still make her sit a year? OR does NCAA trump it all? IF the conference still trumps NCAA then has the SEC granted her the waiver to play right away?

IF the conference still trumps NCAA then has the SEC granted her the waiver to play right away? The SEC requires that an athlete sit out a year when transferring within the conference. A hardship waiver would allow her to play immediately. It's extremely unlikely that such a waiver would be denied to her if she applied for it, since she is a Florida native.

6 freshmen (Warner, Dooley, Fischer, Cerame, Monserez, Hall) plus one transfer (Carlton) came in this year, 2 graduated. It's more just a numbers thing. that's a big class. when i read the part about no freshmen, i did a double take. It wouldn't surprise me to see at least one more athlete transfer in or walk-on this offseason. As for right now, the Gators have 5 incoming freshmen for 2020.

I’d be shocked if Cesaer doesn’t start. Based off Mary’s interview, it seems to be a guarantee T’ara will be one of the outside hitters playing. But a lot could happen during offseason. Also, do people not think Marlie will be capable to be the full time setter? I see some posts doubting her, it seems like. Also I noticed Macy Phillips is no longer on the roster. She was a walk-on DS that came in and served a few times. I believe she had a few aces against USC. It’ll be interesting to see how the coaching staff handles all this talent.

Embarrassment of riches on the pins. Who sits? Assuming Hall is healthy, she's a lock. Hammons really came on strong the second half of the season when Hall was out and the Gators needed her to produce.....Carlton seemed to go the opposite direction but really turned it on in the tournament. And then Ceasar? Too many six-rotation players!

IF Ceasar is cleared to play next year, I think the 2 OHs will largely be determined by who is the most consistent in serve receive/passing, while still being productive in the front row. There's also the possibility that if, for whatever reason, one of them is terminal on the pin, but struggling in the passing game, they can be subbed in the back for the 3rd OH. Sorta like the role that Hammons played her freshman year. That would provide the option to stabilize the passing and still potentially have some* back row offense, if needed. If Florida goes with the 6-2, I'm thinking the passing will be the deciding factor, particularly if/when number of subs become an issue.
I'm intrigued by the battle of the RS, tbh. You have Carlton who started strong, had a little mid-season slump, but then came on strong in the tournament. She also offers a BIG block alongside Kramer that the other two don't necessarily have. I know others might not agree, I'm a huge fan of Soko! If she can improve on her consistency, which I think she will with another year on the right pin, I think she can be really really good! She's had some flashes of brilliance that makes me optimistic about her future! I thought she looked really good in the BYU match, particularly in the first couple of sets. I'm intrigued by Warner! Really fast arm swing, but didn't get many opportunities. With the exception of a few games earlier in the year, even when she came in, she wasn't really set that often. At any rate, having 4 OHs (if Ceasar is cleared and Greer stays, which I think she will because from what I can see, she genuinely loves the team and the school) and 3 RSs reduces the worry if someone struggles or is injured *knocks vigorously on wood*.
I'm also intrigued by the MB position and who gets the nod between Dooley and King. Haven't seem much of either so curious what folks outlook on them are.

Assuming everyone's healthy, it'll be Hall-Ceasar-Carlton on the pins.
I CALLED IT.

The skeptic in me believes we are long overdue for a player or coach to leave. Anyone know anything that can either confirm that or put my mind at ease. Just feels like too much talent to keep happy enough to stay around

I'm high on King over Dooley. King's a Top 10 Senior Ace and spent 2 years learning from Alhassan. Her experience as a RS Jr. and her offensive ability compared to Dooley will win her the spot.

Do you think she should have played over Kellum this year? Also seemed like Dooley was the first middle off the bench instead of King...

I agree that she's probably the better overall option but I don't think she'll start. Wise and the staff showed this past season that they preferred Dooley because of her blocking even though she didn't give much on offense (then again, they never really set her when she was in). Couple that with the fact that King was always the 4th middle off the bench makes me think that she'll be on the bench again until Kramer graduates.

King likely more talented overall but I think Mary knew this wasn't her year to win it all anyway. Dooley was first off the bench for her blocking, which Kellum doesn't excel at compared to the 3 other middles on the roster. She's also 4 inches taller than Kellum compared to just the inch King has over Kellum.
