I feel SEC is going to be a true toss-up I personally think Mizzou has the best chances of winning it all with their play so far. Florida and Kentucky just don't look as good as they do on paper. Kramer is over-hyped, she is not the player we need her to be, Carlton hasn't seemed to improve, neither has the outsides. Kentucky is a simple mess. Figured they'd come in and be national powerhouses with Lilley and Curry getting international time and Edmond being Edmond. I anticipated them going 11-0 in OOC. I can see A&M and Tennesse being spoilers. Hans and company are playing very well and if Hans gets her serve back on track along with her offense that she's putting up, watch out! Same with Grubbs, if she can play how she did last season, or at least how she played in match 1 against Illinois, along with Finghall cutting down the errors, I would be worried. \ some bunny needs a hug

Week 4 Players of the Week: www.secsports.com/article/27685061/volleyball-players-weekSEC Offensive Player of the Week - Tennessee's Tessa Grubbs, a senior outside hitter from Tega Cay, S.C., averaged 5.39 points and 5.00 kills per set and posted a .415 hitting percentage in a 3-0 week for the Lady Volunteers. Grubbs closed out the Tennessee Classic with a career-high .600 hitting percentage against North Dakota State with 16 kills and just one error in the match. SEC Defensive Player of the Week - Florida's Allie Gregory, a senior libero from Louisville, Ky., registered 57 digs (4.75 per set) in a 4-0 week for the Gators. In Wednesday's 3-0 win over No. 23 Florida State, Gregory has 12 digs. She later recorded a career-high 24 digs in Saturday's win over Louisiana. SEC Setter of the Week - Tennessee's Sedona Hansen, a senior from Wrightwood, Calif., was named MVP of the Tennessee Classic after posting 105 assists (11.57 per set) over three victories. Hansen helped her team post a .399 hitting percentage for the tournament. She tallied her fourth double-double of the season against Georgia Southern with 35 assists and 10 digs in the three-set victory. SEC Freshman of the Week - Georgia's Kacie Evans, a freshman outside hitter from Wadsworth, Ohio, averaged 4.88 points and 4.00 kills per set and posted a .379 hitting percentage in wins over North Carolina State and Georgia Tech. Evans also contributed 13 digs, five aces and three total blocks this past weekend.

With the Conference play starting this week below is how I would rank SEC teams to finish. TIER 1 1. Florida (9-2) - if setting does not improve over the course of the season they could be bottom of tier 1. 2. Kentucky (7-4) - they need to get mentally tougher 3. Missouri (8-2) - better than I expected... Deberg could easily be SEC PoY. TIER 2 4. Texas A&M (8-2) - have decent size and very gritty team. Will not be an easy out for tier 1 & 2 teams 5. Tennessee (6-4)- I still think they are finding themselves, but should be much stronger in a couple weeks 6. South Carolina (8-4) - no bad losses, but no real good wins either. They need a couple good wins. TIER 3 7. LSU (6-4) - nice win at Iowa St in Ames, then get swept by Northern AZ and outscored 75-50?? Could be another Jekyll & Hyde year for Tigers! (sorry dman ) 8. Georgia (8-3) - Team chemistry is probably better -1, need to be consistent in conference this year! 9. Ole Miss (8-3) - No bad losses, no real good wins either - they could easily be in tier 4 if Stroup is off. TIER 4 10. Alabama (8-3) - I just don't see them moving up the ladder. 11. Arkansas (6-6) - They need Freshman to come through big time if they want to move up. 12. Auburn (6-5) - I wanted to put them last but they have actually played much better than expected. 13. Miss St. (11-1) - Until they beat someone with a pulse I can't move them up. I also can't tell how much they have improved since last year because of the teams they have played. Florida is hard to call. I think the middles (King and Dooley) are starting to bring potentially better play than Kellum did last year. We have Hall back as healthy and playing so another positive and Hammonds and Carlton more experienced being one year older (Carlton has not looked it though consistently). Yes, setting perhaps is the one area where we do need lots of improvement. Even with that this team should be a step above last year given the two players lost and the returners we have back. Oh, serving and passing could use a bit of improvement too. Macy Phillips and Cheyenne Huskey have been serving great for their teams.

It's exciting that the conference is such a toss up this year. Hoping my Tigers can pull out another SEC championship, it would follow the pattern of every three years since joining the SEC if they do.
1. Mizzou 2. Florida 3. Kentucky 4. Texas A&M 5. Tennessee 6. South Carolina 7. LSU 8. Ole Miss 9. Georgia 10. Alabama 11. Auburn 12. Arkansas 13. Mississippi State

Can't speak to Huskey's serving of late, but Macy Phillips' topspin was creating issues for the Gators. Good for her and the Flames!

I saw Kentucky last game of 2018 against USC. Gamecocks took the first set by exposing UK's weakness: Stumler is a so/so hitter. But then I saw what made UK outstanding in the next 3 sets: they were one gritty, resourceful team who refused to lose. Edmond took 50+ swings, Lilley scored, the middles got involved. They found a way.
I don't know if they can duplicate that kind of season again. Mizzou and Florida appear to have more weapons. But those teams have to go out and do it. Are they mentally tough enough to dethrone UK?
We'll see. I'm not making any predictions.

That's the team I've been looking forward to seeing all year. Loved their aggressiveness on both hitting and serving perspective. If Bannister will stay that aggressive all year I'll be one happy Tiger fan!

Kentucky wins 25-17 over miss state. Passing is killing the dawgs. Canβt run our offense. Kentucky is concentrating serving to Shaw who has troubles passing the ball.

Thought we played well in the 3rd set. Too inconsistent in the others. Overall Iβm pleased π. Kentucky may have a rough go in the SEC. I look for Dawgs to win some matches this year. Team doesnβt give up. Hopefully weβll get Zgunda back soon to help passing and defense. Go Dawgs

Stumler is still Stumler but without Edmond, Kentucky is a cat without its claws.
