Signing off on this thread. Some obvious issues to clean up, but certainly plenty of time to address those before next time we see this team. All in all, it was a fun season. Sucks to finish it out that way, but only one team walks off the court happy at the end of the tournament.

Well that was a disappointed way to end the season. We just don't have the killer instinct to close out sets. We had our chance in the second set, but we blew it. Sorry Husker fans, but y'all got blown out of the gym by Wisky (again). Sun always chokes in big games so don't ever count on her in the NCAAs...I was surprised that Kubik, Stivrins and Sun all hit nearly 0.000 today (the team hit 0.075 in the 1st set and -0.040 in the 3rd set). Looks like only Sweet showed up and Rettke took over the end of the 3rd set with 4 blocks and a kill in the last 5 points. Wisky had 20 blocks to only 8 for the Huskers...might want to work on defense in the offseason ;-( |

This reminds me of 2009 season so much... A tough season after a wonderful year the year before. Kubik won Conference FOY, Werth won Conference FOY. We ended our season to a team that beat us 3 times in a season.

Proud of how Knuckles showed up. Bottom line is Wisconsin is just a much better team than ours. I said before we needed a set to make them “think” and Kiraly said it as well.
Congrats to Wisconsin and good luck the rest of the way. And Huskers, clean up the passing, improve the all-around game. And most importantly, develop that killer instinct in winning close sets.

It was crazy how different this third meeting was - all defense - from the first one in Lincoln - all offense. Nebraska was playing pretty steady, elite level volleyball the whole way this afternoon - best I've seen from them this year, and had a good season. Next year PSU, Nebraska, and Minneosota and Wisconsin are all going to be really scary teams. Again.

If I was a husker fan I couldn’t wait for the 2021 class. It’s so amazing and then you remember it’ll be 2 years till they’re there
