This is amazing!! Thank you for creating this! A late 2019 recruit is Jaedynn Evans, 5' 9" DS/OH from Iowa City Regina. Assuming she will be DS for the Hawks. She had previously committed to Central Michigan way back in 2015. See announcement about this on her Twitter a few weeks ago (link below), which was also posted on Bond's Twitter. Looks like a talented late addition...and a VERY local one! twitter.com/jaedynn_evansAlso, I had wondered the same about M Buzz, given she redshirted her first year at Arizona. I do think there is a strong family pull present to be able to share the experience of being on the same team as Courtney for as long as she can but we shall see. Between that and the questions about Cali's health, those are two huge variables for our OH contingent next year!

I would imagine that M Buzz is playing next year, as I haven't heard anything to indicate otherwise. I'm not counting Hoye out yet. If you watch her YouTube channel you see the occasional shots of her doing rehab. Combine that with the final notes saying she was returning and perhaps there is still a chance she can get healthy enough to contribute next year.

It’s fun to think about 19 already!! A new arena is being built, we have Bush and Buzz (& Maybe Cali) as our seniors, some solid experience as returners in setting and middles, with some size and a quality outside coming in. I think you’ll see Bond pick up a transfer or two to fortify our outsides and maybe our back row. Thinking positive on that team! Enjoy the Christmas break Hawkeyes! #PointHawks

Enjoy the Christmas break Hawkeyes! #PointHawks Some great points and definitely reasons for optimism! I think spring ball will be interesting this year. Would imagine Bond will get to finally check out Griere Hughes' abilities at OH in competitive settings. I see her being a legit, possible piece of the puzzle next fall, especially given the variables surrounding Hoye's injury. Hughes can fly and she put down 325 kills as a true Freshman in the PAC 12. And yes, Hansen is the real deal coming in to join the OHs next fall, too! I would also assume Courtney Buzz will be on the right for spring. That RS position in the fall may intrigue (translated: worry) me more than any other. Think all have had in mind that it was Grunkemeyer's role to lose but she has had to fight back from the injury bug (impressively so, I might add) so hoping she can be as close to 100% as possible as she arrives in IC. And who will be get primary libero time this spring will be of interest as well. Find it interesting that Johnston was in that role for much of the spring last year, yet we still got the privilege of watching Molly slay it during the regular season. Wow, we will miss her. Ah, yes...the annual questions and speculation of the off-season! Have a great holiday season, Hawk fans!

Really like the look of the new arena. Nice new digs for Iowa volleyball.

Has the revolving door of transfers worked well for Iowa?

Has the revolving door of transfers worked well for Iowa? Most definitely! Loxley Keala was a wonderful setter for two years. During a recruiting gap for middle blockers Bond was able to bring in Ashley Mariani and Mikaela Gunderson and both played great. Taylor Louis was a beast on the pin the past two years. The only right sides on our current roster are Courtney Buzzerio (also the backup setter) and a couple of freshman. This is a good move to add some depth.

Dumb question (I really did look for it on the Hawkeyes website first)... Where is VB being played now? Are there pics of it that I missed seeing?
I need to see about making road trips to IA, NE, IN, (t)OSU, as well as MD and RU, so I can again claim to have been to all of the B1G arenas. (I think I got all the ones that have changed... maybe MI too?)
Thanks

The Hawks will be playing in Carver Hawkeye Arena for 2019. Although I am hoping that the seniors get a match or two in the new Iowa Arena being built in next door Coralville at the end of the 2019 season. They are talking that it will be ready by the 2020 season. iowariverlanding.com/play/the-iowa-arena/

The new Iowa Arena in Coralville is supposed to be completed in time for the 2020 volleyball season.
