Heather Meyers (just for the serve), Kat Fischer, Sonja Newcombe (an AA, but still not very high profile), Lauren Page will join this list. Meyers!! I still feel for the Oregon team that didnt make it in - 2010. I really liked her game

Lauren Carlini. She's never received the adulation that is her due.

Wonder how far Macey Gardner would have gone professionally if not for her knee injury? Wonder how far ASU could have gone her senior year. Such a tough way to end your career I think she broke the kill record the game before she got hurt. She would have put it out of reach of ever being broken had she finished the season. Such a great player and person. www.azcentral.com/story/sports/college/asu/2015/10/13/macey-gardner-injury-s-what-meant/73872436/I’m nervous this will be McKenna Miller’s fate-will never be the same.

She is the RJP reverse. Wanted to come to BYU, they had no interest, so she went to Utah. We could have had her and Alexa Gray as our OH’s.

For Wisconsin: Anne Marie Hickey-best Badger libero of the past 10 years IMO and she was huge in their championship game run. Everyone mentions Carlini/Morales/Nelson, Hickey seems to be undervalued IMO. Lizzy Fitzgerald-more than 10 years ago, but she was just a stud at Wisconsin. Should've been a 1st Team All-American in 2000 and especially in 2001.
Texas: Shadare McNeal at Texas-fantastic 6 rotation player who was consistently underrated. Her passing and RS presence was a huge reason why Texas won in 2012 but couldn't repeat in 2013. Lauren Paolini-incredibly efficient and was a much improved player over her career. I saw her as a sophomore and didn't think she'd come close to developing into the star she was her senior year. Heather Kisner-another extremely underrated defender. She was an incredible digger, watch highlights during the 2009 title game. She had Hodge's number that match which is saying something.
USD: Krista Gengenbacher-still recent, but she was one of the best setters in the country last year IMO and was under-recognized by many on here. USD arguably should've hosted last year (they were #9 or 10 in the polls I believe prior to NCAAs) and lost to a very good USC team in 5 on the road. Was happy for USD that they made the Sweet 16 this year, but they really didn't have a shot to do anything where as last year I think they could've competed with Minnesota and Florida had they won in 5 vs. SC
Penn State: Kristin Carpenter-doesn't get enough credit for the job she did in 2010 even if that was the only real highlight of her career. She was by far the best setter in both matches she played in the semis and finals. Easily could've been MOP IMO.
Christy Cochran-going way back, but she was a stud OH for Penn State in the late 90s and never received the honors or recognition she deserved. In 98 she averaged over 3 kills, 3 digs and hit over .350 as an outside. I know it's a different era, but those numbers are remarkable in any era. Was a huge reason Penn State nearly won it all in 97 and 98.
Terri Zemaitis-another one regularly forgotten as one of the best Penn State players ever. Her performance in the 97 title game was 2009 Destinee Hooker-esque in how she just dominated and nearly willed Penn State to a title. On lists she's regularly overshadowed by the likes of Harmotto, Cacciamani, Wilson, etc. but she's right up there with those players. She was also a star during the 94 victory over undefeated Nebraska to get back to the Final Four.
Sam Tortorello-another player who gets overshadowed as an elite Penn State setter by Glass, Hancock, Bremer, and Salima. Tortorello never reached a Final Four but in raw setting ability she could go toe to toe with any of those players. She was the biggest reason why Penn State was able to become a title threat after a couple of down years between 2000 and 2002.
