The girl has openly announced it and RK reported it, but I'm still very leery of openly discussing high schoolers by name on a public forum. That goes double for 8th graders. I don't care either way but your response is such BS. If she were a Nebraska commit you'd shout it from the roof tops.

It's Claire Little from Forza1. The point of committing is to make it public so other schools stop recruiting you. If she announces (which she did), I see no reason to hide it.

Plus it is not a college Volleyball board per se, but an all encompassing VB Board that in theory encourages VB banter about any and every conceivable VB level.

What is the skinny on the new rules? HS sophomores?
A year of varsity would probably be a good place to draw the line. Not that anyone cares about HS anymore vs club.

I believe the student athlete cannot be contacted until their junior year of high school or go on official visits until that time. Obviously that doesn't prevent a scholarship from being offered, but don't know the deets on how that works. Like who offers? Some random man in a trench that delivers a spoken offer?

The new rules don't go into effect until 9/1, I believe. Third-party contacts, including scholarship offers, are still allowed, except in softball and lacrosse, however.
I'm also assuming that any previous offers, unless retracted, will continue to be valid.

The vote is in april and the rules become effective right after the vote, so the rush is on to get them to commit before April.... I thought that was why Cook was talking to that really tall, pregnant woman about her due date and ensuring the sonogram showed it was girl...

It's like vermin getting into your house. Coaches will find a way no matter what you do

Scope out the playground at recess. Check out nap time. You'll know who can bring it. Success never sleeps. Cook's recruiting staff blankets all middle school playgrounds across the state of Nebraska and looks for girls who are head and shoulders taller than everyone else. Contact is then made to determine volleyball suitability. tacky tacky tacky

I'm also assuming that any previous offers, unless retracted, will continue to be valid. The rules go into effect immediately if passed in April. No contact, no unofficial or official visits until August 1 of Junior year. No discussions or promises of financial aid until then. Why August 1? What a waste of the summer. Why not June 1? Families have summer to make visits - because they won't have time once HS season starts in August. Now PSAs have to pay money to go to camps to be seen by coaches and to take the campus tours offered at these camps. The rules were supposed to be an attempt to save PSAs money by allowing official visits sooner however with the shortened timeline they have to pay to attend and travel to these camps to get a feel of the coaches, current SA and campuses. Things definitely appear to have picked up recently as presumably schools are rushing to get commits prior to new rules going into effect. Once rules are in place, I fear it will be like a gun going off and PSAs will be forced to make a quick decision or school will move on to next PSA. There will be no time to take visits to multiple schools or think about it.
