Hawaii played lights out that 3rd set. UCI looked like they gave up and just wanted the game to end.

UCI looked terrible in the third set. Hawai'i was completely into UCI's head in that 3rd set. |

Totally pathetic performance from UCI. I kinda expected we would lose, but to do it like that... Wow. Hope we turn up tomorrow.

Looks like Long Beach State and Hawaii are the top two teams. Long Beach State looks by far the best. They are the defending national champs and return everyone but Huus. So that's not surprising. |

People need to look at that first set. Many Hawaii teams of the past when tested like that would fold on the road. But this team kept fighting and fighting. It's only 1 win but that to me shows that this squad will fight and not give in. That's a start!

joe with 45 assists in a 3 set match. joe for npoy! +1 I agree! Cowell also played great. SVT didn’t play as well as I was hoping. This tells me that the team has the depth and balance this year. Having watched the LBSU and UCLA game. LBSU is still the team to beat. |

Hawaii needs to be careful tomorrow because Irvine will come in tomorrow on fire. Just as they did last year at the Stan Sheriff Center and got the split.

Good win for UH but I think UCI played lousy and that made UH look good. If UCI can cut down on their hitting errors and serve tougher, UH would be in for a battle.
Plus UCI is a Jekyll and Hyde team so UH cannot think they will dominate again tomorrow. Got to come out and play like they lost and keep that fire in their belly.

UCI put no serving pressure on Hawai'i, despite having more aces, but this has been a chronic problem. And the block never got going for UCI. We'll see if the 'Eaters have the mental toughness to come back strong tomorrow. |
