This was true before the weekend, but not so much now. They have fallen behind in race for NCAA bid #3 and can't catch up without help. They must hope FIU gets some bad losses. The loss to TCU especially hurt them, in almost every criteria. A loss on RegRec and OvRec. Most contenders have beaten TCU so bad for CommOpps. Bad for H2H if TCU wins out. Bad for SoS just playing a .500 team. They could finish 28-8 and be left out again. While they played a tougher schedule than last year, they just have a couple decent wins to show for it. Their win over SCarolina is not that great as some contenders have also beaten SCar. The split with LBSU is ok, but unlikely to help enough. Look at the scores Stetson put up when they played UCLA, just crushed. It probably didn't help that it was their 3rd tough match of the day. Perhaps I am just seeing what I want to see, but very few teams this year seem to have won their 3rd match of a day. Maybe I will do some research on it. I've long contended that playing 3 matches per day (especially in 2 day tournaments) is not smart scheduling for NCAA level. Hawaii will probably prove me wrong today.

I agree with the 3 match day being rough especially if all matches are against ranked opponents (good way to test a team at least). This weekend will be the second and third time Hawai'i has played 3 games in a day. I won't make a remark on their record because I don't want to jinx them. "I'm not superstitious, I'm just a little stitious."

#4 LSU in Top-10 for 30th Straight Poll www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=211798091"In Miami, the Tigers took down No. 10 Stetson, No. 8 Florida International, No. 16 Grand Canyon and No. 15 Florida Atlantic. With 12 wins over ranked teams, including seven over Top-10 competition, LSU is setting itself up nicely for a third consecutive appearance as one of the final eight teams in Gulf Shores at the NCAA Championship. It was a critical weekend for LSU in that it was the only time during the regular that the Tigers would face either Stetson or FIU. Getting victories over both of those teams means that LSU has secured at least one victory over every team from the east region that it has played this season thus far which could prove to be vital come selection Sunday on April 28."

UCLA head coach Stein Metzger said his team made good improvements in Florida, but knows that the Trojans will be looking for revenge against the Bruins. "What we need to do is get refocused on our game plans and scouting reports," said Metzger. "Against USC, it’s a team we play more than anybody. We know them well, but we need to make sure we make any adjustments and make sure we’re prepared for them."
