What have they done? And putting South Carolina below LMU and Arizona at 14? Any theories other than personal connections? I can’t twist results in my head in any way to justify this.

Cal’s ranking is baffling. They have no quality wins at all. Beating Stanford without Plummer or the middle they recently lost is not a quality win. Other than that they’ve lost to UCLA, USC, and Hawaii. I’m thinking they could easily go 0-4 in their next four matches (LBSU, CalPolyx2 and Pepp). Or maybe 1-3. Either way that will be it. |

Some coaches want "ranked" wins on their schedule, either teams they already beat or are going to play. So they vote for them instead of making educated votes. Makes good press, too. Also BW and maybe other conferences use AVCA poll for conference tournament seeding because they are too lazy or ignorant that it is unused by NCAA. |

What I find hilarious is that AVCA publishes how each coach votes on the polls for indoor women and men. But they don't for Beach cuz of all the shenanigans that goes on
