LMU head coach John Mayer: "Pepperdine has dominated our conference, and every time we have played them in the past, I tried to convince myself there was a chance but I didn’t feel like there was. I’d say this year we can definitely beat them. We might have to play the best we’ve played all year, but we’ve beaten top 10 teams." p1440.com/news/lmu-mixes-things-up-advances-to-semifinals-of-wcc-championships"To win a conference championships, to beat Pepperdine twice, would mean a lot for this season and for our seniors, and it would mean a ton for our program," said LMU coach.

"We’ve been wondering when somebody would challenge us like this," said UCLA head coach Stein Metzger. "We hope that nobody gets sick or injured down the stretch. If that were to happen, I’d still feel very confident in the squad."

And what happened to Megan Rice? She was in the lineup at 3s for LMU and has disappeared. I know she can be a handful to coach so wondering if It’s Mayer’s decision or if her previous ACL injury/surgery has caused issues. Anyone know?

First time for Slattery and Culo to play together this year. Coach Mayer shook things up and I guess it worked. Little bit of a sacrificial offering for those two playing for the first time and against the Waves 1 team.

What happened to Slattery and Culo? Those two not there had to hurt LMU? And what happened to Megan Rice? She was in the lineup at 3s for LMU and has disappeared. I know she can be a handful to coach so wondering if It’s Mayer’s decision or if her previous ACL injury/surgery has caused issues. Anyone know? I'm told Megan was starting to get some discomfort in her knee and wants to be ready for indoor. All involved felt it was the best decision not to push it.
