www.theintelligencer.net/news/top-headlines/2019/03/wheeling-jesuit-university-slashes-programs-sports-to-remain/"Thursday afternoon, WJU gathered its students and employees together in the McDonough Center to share more details for Academic Year 2019-2020. At that meeting, President Michael P. Mihalyo Jr. announced that WJU will offer the following academic programs starting with the Fall 2019 semester: Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and Master of Science in Nursing." ------ I'm guessing the majority of these classes are attended by student athletes.

There are some really good programs at the school that deserve better.

Of the people I know, younger than retirement age, that moved to the south, a significant number(50% ish) ended up moving back. The problem they ran into was that after moving to the south, they discovered that meant they had to live there. If you grew up in the Northeast moving to the south can be a shock to the system. Southerners are not all hicks nor rednecks. However, if you move to my town and treat me like one, your reception might be somewhat frosty. Bless your heart.

I wonder how many players they have on their team. Heard that some current players have transferred to Belmont Abbey, Mercyhurst, West Liberty, and Cleveland State already, with more still trying to decide-- and all their recruits have found new homes for 2019.

Santa Clara University is a Jesuit school but without the Jesuit name. Perhaps that’s what Wheeling Jesuit needs to do. But I see from Wikipedia that they used to be called Wheeling College back in the day.

Can confirm. The state system in WV barely tolerates the red-headed stepchildren they already have. If the powers-that-be had their way, WVU and Marshall would be the beginning and end of the state's university system. If Gordon Gee had his way, WVU would be the beginning and the end of the state's university system.

I heard that one of their math majors was actually accepted to Virginia Tech's graduate CS program. That tells me UCLA > (WVU or Marshall).
