this dosent look good for the huskies hope she can play at the same level next week
"Note: Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Christal Morrison did not play this evening after suffering a torn meniscus in her right knee at practice on Wednesday. It is the same injury she had last year in high school, in which she missed two weeks of the season. UW trainers say Morrison is cleared to play during the postseason as she cannot do further damage to the knee. Coach McLaughlin chose to rest Morrison tonight"

That is really too bad. Hope she can still play to her ability as she was a big part of their success this year.

Smart move to rest her last night. They didn't need her. I'm not sure they'll need her tonight, with Sanja back. If they can get by without her this weekend, here's hoping the week off will give her time to heal up(however much that can happen) so she can be ready for next weekend. I wondered why she didn't play last night. This explains it.
It's cliche, I know, but Mary has always said that to be successful in the postseason, you need 3 things. You have to be good, you need to be lucky and you need to be healthy. Hopefully Morrison can get back on the court.

I think he will rest her again tonight. After watching the Kanas game, I dont think she is needed against them. I was surprised they beat Sana Clara, but both teams made a large amount of unforced errors. Psssing, hitting and serving.

Hopefully the injury isn't so bad as to seriously hamper Washington's chances. Injuries are always a part of sports, but it's disappointing to players and fans alike when teams are not at their best when the playoffs come around.
I hope she can make any possible adjustments to allow her to continue to play and be effective.

It sounds like she will continue to be able to play. I had what sounds like a similar injury and it does hurt but nothing that can't be played through and pay for later. Minor surgery after the season is over will probably take care of it if all goes well.
Regardless of whether she is in the lineup or not and regardless of how well I would like the Big 12 to do in the tournament, Kansas will not be able to play with Washington. The #7 team was out in the first round and to expect the #6 team to advance beyond the second is too much to expect. I'm proud of them for taking out Santa Clara but I don't think it is going to happen with Washington.

How exactly will a torn meniscus impare a player until it is repaired? Just pain? Loose feel side to side? Sliding knee cap? Jump affected?
Just wondering.
