Isn't this a criminal suit (since they lifted the statute of limitations?) No. It’s a civil suit. Civil claims also have statutes of limitations. Did NY just change the statue of limitations for civil claims that included minors?

I think the new post is referencing the new law (Child Victim Law) in NY that has essentially changed the statue of limitations for sexual abuse offenses perpetrated against minors. The article indicated that suit was filed in NY state last week (article was dated 8.30.19), but gives no link to actual suit. I could't find anything, but sure hope she does and keeps the pressure on.

Did NY just change the statue of limitations for civil claims that included minors? No, they changed both. As I understand it (only from reading media reports linked here) for civil claims, they extended the statute of limitations for private lawsuits until the victim of 55 years old (it was previously 23). They extended the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution of felonies until the victim is 28; for criminal prosecution of misdemeanors until the victim is 25. However, as has been discussed previously in this thread, it is unconstitutional for states to change laws permitting criminal charges against someone where the criminal statute of limitations already has passed. In other words, this law opens up civil lawsuits for some long-ago stuff, but not necessarily criminal prosecution. Do you know where I might find a link to the NY civil suit?

You’re going to say they were 18. If you believe that, can you at least concede he was with ethically WAAAAAYYYYYY over the line? Guessing you don’t have daughters.

To state that he "did nothing" or "did nothing wrong" would even be going against what he has stated. He has admitted to making mistakes in the situation. At the very least, he has admitted to having consensual intercourse with players (who he insists were former players). If you believe "he did nothing (wrong)," I question your moral ethics.
