What are some of your favorite things to purchase from Costco? I have begun to enjoy a number of their pre-made oven meals such as the meatloaf & mashed potatoes, the stuffed bell peppers and the chicken enchiladas.

By the way, did you know COSTCO sells their rotisserie chicken at a loss? They do it because customers love them.

I live by myself and have always found it uneconomical to have a Costco membership. I simply don't need things in the quantities they sell them at.
(I remember the early days, back in the 1980s, when Costco was only in the Seattle area. At that time they were more serious about their "wholesale" status, and you couldn't even get a membership unless you had a business license.)

If it's any consolation, you can buy their booze and prescriptions without a membership. With the Costco Visa Card cashback bonus, I find that I can pay for my annual membership just from my purchase of their gas (usually around 20¢ a gallon cheaper than most others), booze, meats, meals and even their clothes and not have to buy obnoxious bulk quantities. Bought tires for my car at their auto shop...great deal.

I don't need things in that type of bulk, so I don't have a membership, but my favorite thing is that they were rated a top ten company by worker ratings in a recent poll. Trader Joe's won, and Southwest Airlines was second.

We're big consumers and we go through them fast because our dog eats everything we eat, except for seasoned foods. We're also very active people so we're hungry all the time. In between big meals, we also eat a lot of snacks. In two weeks, we go through:
48 eggs 4 gallon containers of milk 4 bags of frozen fruit 60-70 bananas 2 giant bags of chips 1 10-lb bag of carrots 50-60 fruit items (variety)
...and these are only the stuff I can think of at the moment.
The reason for the high consumption of milk and frozen fruits is because we prepare kefir, a super probiotic dairy drink. Lots of great vitamins and bacteria that's good for your body. Tastes like dishwater. It's an acquired taste. I've grown to like it. My dog loves it. The first time he had some, he took a taste, did a sudden twirl because of its tartiness (I guess), drank a lot of water, and then finished the kefir, then drank more water. In the kefir, we put in frozen fruits and oatmeal. It's a complicated process which I won't bore you with. However, if interested, you can ask me and I'll give you the kefir preparation details.

I don't count calories. I exercise every day and eat whatever I want to eat. Not a problem for us. On days I lift weights or do some sort of strength training, I eat lots of protein. On cardio days, not so much. Lots of veggies and fruits.

You get a whole pizza to go at the snack counter and it is pretty damn good and prefer that to Domino's, Papa Johns, Pizza hut, etc..

Except for "crisp apple strudel," you can't get any of the items listed in the song "My Favorite Things" at COSTCO. And I'm not even sure you can get "crisp apple strudels" there!
