Matautia left on bad terms and the team Showed it’s better off without that drama and the team members from Last year know all about it already there is no distraction. Figured. Austin doesnt follow half of the players on UH's team on IG. Right there I realized had bad blood. Throughout last season, you could tell Austin didn’t quite fit in. The team was and still is full of Type A personalities and Austin seems a little more reserved.

It’s a hit job by somebody....no doubt. This thing obviously was not important enough last month, two months, three months ago. Now both teams are in the final, this is all of a sudden very important.
Safesports wanted Wade suspended even before the investigation is completed. To me, that is BS.

"NCAA events do not fall under SafeSport, USOC or USA Volleyball authority, so suspended coaches are not prohibited by rule from coaching on collegiate teams while under investigation by SafeSport." The 'Interim Suspension - pending investigation' for POSSIBLE misconduct, would by jurisdiction apply only to USOC and USA Volleyball programs/events. Not to NCAA Men's Volleyball. The article states the misconduct in question is related to something someone in the USA Volleyball community 'became aware of' that was possibly 'misconduct', and the article suggests it involves a female. The paper suggests the timeline for the possible misconduct is from at least ten years ago to over twenty years ago. SafeSport was involved over a year ago to look into it. In September of 2018 they decided to investigate and suspend from USA Volleyball affiliations pending investigation. So there has been an investigation by this non-profit organization going on for at least seven months. Questions: 1. Why is this public? It appears to be over something possibly to have occurred from over a decade ago, possibly two decades ago, possibly charged anonymously, and still under investigation. An investigation that is now taking over at least seven months. So, apparently there is no hot smoking trail of evidence here. 2. We can probably assume Wade is trying to defend himself. But clearly he can't comment on it, no lawyer worth his salt would let him. So again, why is this being made public? Wade can't comment or defend himself in public. 3. What falls under the "Misconduct" umbrella? Assume it's nothing criminal, o/w shouldn't it be a police investigation, not a non-profit cut-out for USA Volleyball?
4. If the 'charge' isn't over something criminal, then why the publicity?

I hope this doesn't taint his chances for the NCOY.

I hope this doesn't taint his chances for the NCOY. It has a high probability of doing just that.

The story is a non issue. Has nothing to do with Volleyball, and was obviously released just to stir up trouble. Wade and the Warriors need to stay the course and ignore the noise.

I commend Long Beach for doing the right thing. Once they became aware of the claim against an employee, they acted on it, did their own investigation.
Question: Is UH admin aware of the investigation or suspension by USA volleyball against Charlie? When did they became aware of it and did they do due diligence on their part to investigate the matter?
Now that the issue has come to light, UH reputation is at stake. Charlie, whatever he is being accused of, be it outside of volleyball, as an employee, he is representing the university. He is known as a coach at UH. This is really sad turn of events.

Definitely different than Touzinsky's case, which yielded results that prompted a "formal warning," whatever that is. But Wade is going to have to coach at LBSU, and these articles just resulted in the 49ers losing an assistant coach. I'll be really surprised if Wade makes it to next weekend.

Matautia's Instagram story is a very interesting detail, indeed. I doubt Matuatia knows anything, he butted with Wade because he did not like Wade’s rules and thought he should be a fulltime starter. There are many coach’s besides Wade that would not start Matautia over who was ahead of him. As a coach I’d take ten Rosie’s and Cowells anyday over Matautia.

It's standard procedure to suspend someone when a complaint is being investigated. There are several others on the list in the same circumstance. A bigger problem is that it takes so long for them to complete their nvestigations. Nine months is way too long.
