Same thing as the Nikki Taylor/Kaiwi Schucht pairing a few years ago. Everyone served the other person who wasn't Nikki. Kaiwi was mostly a finesse hitter that sided out well. Nikki has instructions to attack on two whenever she was able to.

Nikki has instructions to attack on two whenever she was able to. Schucht was also with Maglio two years ago. She is a beach savvy player with a variety of shots but could also hit the ball well, which helped her side out easily. Certainly, it is helpful to have the blocker go over on two when appropriate and possible. But, you don't want to rely on that all the time especially when you are up against a physical team that hits and serves well. Both players have to be able to side-out consistently. There are lot's of "finesse" players (I prefer to say skilled beach players) that are successful. It's really no different than indoor volleyball, the more skills you master, the better. I think any successful beach player will tell you that you need to have both especially to be successful at the higher levels (Misty May, Laura Ludwig, etc. are examples of players that had both, and they are the best of the best).

Surprised at the Loker/Maidment pairing at the 4's over Hellvig/Huddleston. Maybe in the next match, Hall will switch the 4's and 5's, or try to insert a new pair.

Yup, Hall switched the 4's and 5's, and it seemed to work.

UH's next match will be against Utah.
For Utah, former UH McKenna Granato played on the #1 flight for Utah in their first two matches. Lost both.

Dang!.....Utah is not very good. Failed to hit double digit in points in half of their sets. Flight 5 managed only 7 points in both of their sets losing 21-7 and 21-7. That's pretty sad. I wonder how many points Utah earned and how many points were on UH errors.
Only flight 4 would be considered a competitive match.

Hawaii is a top 4 team this year. Lol at that Poly fan Kirikiri who thought Hawaii would take a tumble because of the 4 players that transferred out. The new players they brought in this year are better, even with less experience.

She playing with Hannemann at flight 2 and then go over and play with Ozee at flight 3. Dudette must be a stud. I hope Brooke Van Sickle is not feeling left out...LOL

Faster then a speeding bullet. Being able to play two flights at the same time. LOL.
