Does playing water volleyball (screw a pole in the bottom of the swimming pool, string a net across) in my parents pool count for anything? We had some major wet kills, wearing bikinis, back in those days! Ah, the good old days... I'd like to get a water volleyball team going! A new Olympic sport!

I guess I could have put current college/university player (NCAA, NAIA, etc...) but that person can just choose Formal Team.

That sucks. [/quote]
Tell me about it... Kept having cartilage shaven from it until a few years ago.

I would actually have rather had a torn ACL than a torn lateral meniscus. You can recover from an ACL tear with a good ortho surgeon and lots of dedicated rehab. Once they take out your meniscus (on either side) all you have to look forward to are episodes of knee locking up, osteoarthritis and narrowing of the joint space (i.e. pain), and general suckiness for the rest of your life until they decide they wanna replace your knee.
But heck, I can still go, on occasion. Just can't go 4-6 times a week like the old days.

My knees always hurt after a match. A leftover reminder of my 10 years of football in my early days. Fortunately, I quit football after my worst knee injury. No surgery but plenty of aches and pains. Regular weightlifting helps but it never stops.

34 votes so far. Can we make 100 by week end? Lots of competing threads this week so I doubt it.

I am a rec player who plays in a competitive league who recruits great players to make up for my lack of skill. ;D
