Of course I lead the Evan Cory fan club but one thing about his game is his hand setting and jump serve are both very very good for a guy who plays beach between college indoor seasons. Also has the ball skills and passing of an Outside hitter. Most of his development will be the transition game and other experience related growth aspects. Any chance Cory could play defense. He has a really great jump but at 6'4" I would be a little concerned at his ceiling in MD's against the bigger blockers.

I think at this point blocking is all he knows. For as explosive a leaper as he is, I don’t know that he’s super quick. Would have to see him try to know.

Watched a little of Cory, great jump, undersized, would be solid in split blocker situation but there are so few guys who even attempt that.

Thoughts on JM Plummer or Aaren Rice? Two guys that I think went out to California to pursue the beach dream I haven't see Rice play. Plummer, I have seen a decent amount in FL. I watched him in Hermosa, thought he played really well. Needs to get better fitting partners. He's 29, so I wouldn't say young. I know he's living with Travis, hopefully he stats getting bigger partners.

Thoughts on JM Plummer or Aaren Rice? Two guys that I think went out to California to pursue the beach dream Rice is a great physical specimen, not overly huge size-wise, but very physical. He's fairly young on the quality experience; he has been playing in TN/GA for the last few years, he just started playing "bigtime" volleyball in the last 3 years. Marshall Brock is another young guy (that has played with Rice) that moved out to Cali recently, to pursue this life. Marshall has great volleyball skills, but spent most of his early years indoors, having just picked up the beach game 3 maybe 4 years ago. Great jumper (45") and quick defender, and a really smart guy.
