Thailand is the best. They still smile even though they lost. They are always a fan favorite. If China qualify now I hope Thailand wins the Asian Qualifier. With the odds favoring Russia, South Korea will be the only team that's stopping them. Kim Yeon Koung is an amazing player, but the Thai team as a whole have so much more to offer.

With Brazil winning pool D....I’m pulling for Colombia to win the CSV qualifier! Argentina just look pitiful.

Anybody have a link to updated standings or complete results? I’ve pieced together some of it but I’d like to see it all if possible.

I really wish we had this type of tournament with the same format every year. VNL is great but it's pretty small in comparison to this one. Really dig down into the world rankings and maybe do 6 pools of 6 teams where the top two in each pool get to enter an Olympic-style elimination bracket. I just love getting to watch some of the lower ranked teams play too. That to me is "growing the game".

That was one of the worst showing by Canada than I have seen in some time. Gray was targeted like she was in last year's World Championship's (but without her usual offensive power). Unfortunately, one of Canada's biggest problems is the setting (poor decision making, poor location, trap sets, in general poor connection). The team had communication issues and the passing was bad. When they were in system, the sets were so predicable. Chase is a bright spot and defense and I am glad to see her making the traveling roster. I'd like to see her in the libero jersery (much Courtney for the US). She doesn't bring a lot offensively at this level. Max was missed offensively against Korea and helped stabilize the passing in the back row (along with Chase). I'd like to see Cross and Maglio with a good setter who can set the middle. Maglio continues to improve her game (and with a setter like Iosia would be so nice). Still I feel this team has potential. It will be nice to see the team get some experience in the VNL next year. When's the last team they faced teams of this caliber? They've performed well against lower level teams (and the American C team). They showed some fight against a top 10 team. Seems in line with previous results (although the first set was bad). Umm, the day before when they played Korea, a top-ten team. Last year they played China, Italy, Turkey, etc. at the World Championships. They had a decent showing against China. I don't think they showed the same fight and effort they have in some previous matches. I don't think Russia played their best either (and this is when Canada needs to capitalize against top teams). I think the critique is accurate (and it wasn't all negative). They had a less than stellar start in the first set, and they were up 20-18 in one set and lost 25-21. Even the announcer the last two matches said that Canada has the ability to be a potential spoiler, but at times they shoot themselves in the foot. Also, something along the lines of "Canada needs to learn how to win against teams of this caliber" (if they want to get to the next level). I'd like to see them do that, but they have some weaknesses they need to work on. If you ask the players, and I have talked to a few. They didn't think they played their best either. Several other posters have posted about Canada's weakness at the setter position (and not that it was all bad), as well as the weaknesses with the passing (someone said they passed like the USA under 20 team today). The team's goal is to qualify for the Olympics. We can continue to say that they did alright, and that's okay if the goal is to do okay against top teams.

Argentina are ranked higher than Turkey.... FIVB's rankings need fixing Two Words = Continental Quota. It’s sad really. How many European teams, even Asian teams, have been left out of major tournaments?

China up 12-8 on Turkey.
For Turkey their middles are CRUCIAL! Karakurt has yet to get going.

Now 16-10 to China at first TTO. Turkey’s block isn’t slowing down China’s big guns yet.
