And don't they have to play Sara/Brandie in the morning first?

I wonder if that was a blessing for Emily and Betsi to lose that match and not face Ateam yet Then ATeam would have to face winner of the Brandie/Hughes vs Flint/Day match in the semis.

Hughes and Wilkerson absolutely annihilated Howard/Turner -7, -11. Looked very comfortable and relaxed. Everything working. Let's see what they look like against stiffer competition tomorrow, but I would pick them against Day/Flint playing like that.
Cannon and Reeves appear to have forged a good partnership. They look solid together. Muno/Jones had a couple of match points, but gave in to mental errors, and Cannon/Reeves looked very steady.

Wish more of their matches had been shown. AP scheduler needs some work

Sara is playing left side. Seems to be still getting used to it and setting a lefty.
Played courts 7,4,4, then 1.

Sara doesn’t seem to be having any problems offensively on the left. I watched the last part of the match they lost, and Brandie was the one getting served. They sure looked good against Howard and Turner - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 17-4 technical timeout before. Maybe just skip the technical and put that game out of its misery?
Totally agree about the scheduling, though. That team absolutely should have been on stadium at some point, and the AVP doesn’t even seem to make an effort to put more attractive matches on courts 1 and 2 for TV viewers.

Havent watched as much AVP as FIVB this year. That stadium court looked huge. Not sure why the AVP cant run CA beaches 5-6 times a year instead of 3. Maybe scheduling issues etc. but outside of the Eastern Europe events, this and Hermosa looked like the most exciting crowds/events of the year. But definitely better scheduling to make sure the teams people want to see are featured. Jones/Muno are interesting but Hughes/Wilkerson are two of the most compelling players the AVP has and are just on a different level in terms of ability and fan interest. Same with Crabb/Priddy. How is that team ever not featured. Especially with the AVP's Olympics obsession and Trevor being maybe the most interesting trash talker

Only possible reason for their choices.

MHP/SP actually have an easier route to the finals. They get either Ledoux/Salgado or Cannon/Reeves.
Meanwhile ATeam plays the winner of Brandie/Hughes vs Day/Flint.

My feeling is the court schedule is set before the seeds are, and they don't want to mess with the schedule. Only possible reason for their choices. From what I know (from past years but same people still running the show), the court assignments are not done until very late in the process, and late switches are sometimes made. Just doesn't seem to be for the benefit of our desires here. Not sure what criteria they use to assign matches to courts.
