Gordon Sumner -- Sting Paul Hewson -- Bono Vox David Evans -- The Edge Carlos Estévez -- Charlie Sheen Malik Shabazz -- Malcolm X's final name, originally born Malcolm Little Archibald Leach -- Cary Grant Allen Konigsberg -- Woody Allen Declan MacManus -- Elvis Costello (he legally changed his name to Elvis Costello, then legally changed it back again) Shawn Carter -- Mr. Beyonce (Jay-Z) Never would've gotten Bono. U2 existed in the 1970s and 1980s, but it seems like they really exploded in America in the 1990s, which is when my pop/rock music education stops. I don't even think I heard of U2 until late 1980s. The Edge -- never heard of him. I didn't follow U2. I should've gotten Cary Grant and Woody Allen. I knew Malcolm X was Malcolm Little but not Malik Shabazz. I knew he had a Muslim name but I thought it was something like Mohammad Mustafa Zadeh. LOL! Who cares about Shawn Carter. I know Declan MacManus = Elvis Costello because I simply knew this fact but it was also reinforced because of his marital association with Diana Krall, the jazz pianist-vocalist, whom I used to follow independent of Costello because I like her covers of a lot of early- to mid-20th Century standards. One of the original "S' Wonderful" (Gene Kelly, et al.):

I knew a bunch of them because I'm smart.
Donovan was also a Leach, although spelled Leitch. And I know that because I am also a Leach.

What are the only two countries in South America which do not share a border with Brazil?

Chile and Ecuador.
(I have a picture of South and Central America in my head. I used to have a fictional fantasy football league set in North, Central, and South America. Thus, my geography prowess. I'm not as familiar with all the new nations in Europe post-1990s, however.)

I got this one wrong. I knew Colombia was wrong, but picked it anyhow. You'd think my 3rd grade (or whenever it was) report on Ecuador would have stuck. I was tempted to go with Ecuador, but didn't.
I'm not sure it ever really jumped out at me that almost all of the countries border on Brazil.
Pretty sure I knew that only two countries were landlocked.

Hell, I was going to say that my trip to Venezuela in the 1980s is the only time I've been in the Southern Hemisphere. Then I looked at a map. Cerca pero no cigarro.

Hell, I was going to say that my trip to Venezuela in the 1980s is the only time I've been in the Southern Hemisphere. Then I looked at a map. Cerca pero no cigarro. The continental landmasses are so biased toward the north that even some we think of as "southern" like Africa and South America are actually partly north.

ANSWERS
Name that rock band
For each entry, I've listed the key band members EXCEPT one or two of the most famous ones. Please identify the rock band. The first three are easy and illustrate what I've done.
(HINT: These are very famous rock bands. They're not the obscure bands that only some rock nerd heard about.)
1. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Chrstine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood --> Fleetwood Mac
2. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon --> Queen
3. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Ian Stewart --> Rolling Stones
4. John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, Doug Clifford --> Creedance Clearwater Revival
5. Sting, Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland --> Police
6. Ann Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Steve Fossen, Roger Fisher, David Belzer, Jeff Johnson --> Heart
7. Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Richard Wright --> Pink Floyd
8. Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Gregg Rolie, Ross Valory, Aynsley Dunbar, Steve Smith --> Journey
9. Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore --> The Doors
10. Ronnie Van Zant. Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Larry Junstrom, Bob Burns, Steve Gaines --> Lynyrd Skynyrd
11. Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee, (Bill Payne, John Cowan, Marc Russo, Ed Toth --> touring musicians) --> The Doobie Brothers

Which is larger (in volume), a barrel of wine or a barrel of crude oil?
Not a trick question. The barrels are not the same size.

I know they use "barrel" as a unit of measure for a variety of things, each barrel being different for the different types of content, but I wouldn't know the exact volume (e.g., gallons) for the various barrels.

It's also complicated because wine actually is stored in barrels, while for oil "barrels" are pretty much just a unit of measure.

"Here's my friend, Joni Mitchell. And here's my other friend, Mary Travers [from Peter Paul & Mary]." Gawd...what a shameless name-dropper... LOL!

But she's dead now, so we won't judge.
