Thanks for the updates. That West score was closer than I thought. Muskego is becoming consistently good year over year it seems. That score was closer than I thought it would be as well.

Let's not forget these are high school kids. School is about to start (some have already started) and there is a lot more that they worry about than just volleyball. Not to mention, we are in week one of matches. Teams are just getting going and figuring things out. Give it a few weeks before we predict who is going to win conferences and sectionals.

Waukesha West takes care of Kettle Moraine is 3 sets. Gulak and crew could not stop a continuous onslaught of attacks from Spellman and Kostolni (sp?). Webber had a great game but got injured in the second set, but he returned to play. West played solid together and kept their emotion in check, which seems to be promising. Junior middles Jordan and Keller seemed to have picked it up in Club season this past year. Boland had an amazing game setting and playing defense, something he didn’t do well in last year. New comer Higgins played amazing for his first start as a Freshman. KM looks to start out slow but should blossom later in the season, their passing was good, but they only found their middles on perfect passes. Malak is their Go-Too now that Freeman is gone. Gulak had a good night as well, since he was matched up against Spellman the whole night. KM is still a high quality team, but they need to pick it up if they want a chance at State this year.

Congrats to Marquette.. avenging losses to the top 2 teams in the state based on the last coaches poll is pretty good. Might have to watch Arrowhead and Homestead and see if they can get into the winner’s bracket at some points. Earliest tournament but always nice to see the season begin to really unfold! It would appear the top 10 teams that were at KM either performed up to or exceeded their ranks.

I heard Grady Cheesewheel is transferring from coomer hs to play for the cornshuckers because the farmland is superior for the courts. Also they play on the higher 7.10 net.
