Which of these two vet qualifier duos - or both or neither - will prove their 3rd place run was no fluke? I think Kolinske/Beranek may nab a win or two, whereas I have zero faith in Rosie and Lee to replicate their run (although I love David's blocking)

Can't see Billynek winning, as I said when they paired up, no easy out. Ceiling is higher for Rosie but so is their chance of bombing out. Consistency belongs to Billynek.

Gotta go w Rosie/Lee if I had to pick one, but I'm saying 7th is best finish for either. The seeding is going to impact a lot. 10 seed much more likely to upset the 7, vs. 14th upsetting the 3rd.

Rosie lee. I really like that team.Lee does great sealing the net and Rosie can seal the backline. They play well together too.

I remember Guest2 absolutely hammering me, over and over, for even suggesting that a young Beranek might have more long-term upside than a 39 year-old Rosie. Now you're picking him as more likely to win some matches than Rosie? Did one third-place finish really make you abandon your fervent position so quickly?

There are two players on a team So you trust an inexperienced sand player in David Lee over an above average super experienced blocker in Billy? You have it backwards. I agree with JB that its unlikely either team does that well but Billy/Beranek is a better composed team than Rosie/Lee and will likely finish higher. Lee's hitting window is just too small and depending on the sand so much has to go into him siding out well. Im a Billy fan. I dont think he is particularly good due to his physical limits, but I admire the way he grinds, how he always aims high, and the way he gets the most out of what he has. Rosie is an all timer but if his approach to the game throughout his career had been Billy's approach, he probably would have won 30 more events

Now I get it - Billy is the only reason they took 3rd in Manhattan. Except most of us who were there, and watched all of their matches, realize that Beranek carried Billy, not vice versa. It's just so funny that you absolutely hammered Beranek over and over without knowing anything about him, and now your only explanation is that there's two players on a team. You stated many times that the kid was not even anywhere near Rosie - not even on the same planet, as you ridiculed those of us who thought that Beranek had a decent upside.

Yep, I remember Eric coaching up Billy after every point all weekend Burik Brady Placek Drost Frishman Marchewska Mariano Montgomery Lorenz Lee Thats off the top of my head, players who have finished 3rd at least once. He had one finish. One finish does not make a player good. Lets see him post another result or two before we make him the next Karch
