From the Columbus Dispatch... buried on page 10 (Sports). Credited: "From Staff Reports" (whatever that means).
Coach Stone: "I'm really pleased for our players that they were able to hang in there. We lost two close games (unnecessary comma) and found ways to lose them. To the credit of the players, they didn't get frustrated.
We played well, and more than anything else (put that comma here) we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot. We didn't make unforced errors, hitting errors (another unnec. comma) and forced Tennessee to earn their points. It was a good turnaround.
It was kind of an odd atmosphere. It was not a home court. We still only have one player who has played in this tournament very much, and I think our inexperience showed a little bit.
We tried to stay as positive as possible. It wasn't like we were playing terrible. We were just losing the big points. We could never get in front. We felt if we could play from in front, things would turn in our direction. The last three games (no comma) we were in front from the first couple of points on."
Then narrative: Gordon's effort (lol) gave her the Ohio State and Big Ten season kills record with 798 set by OSU's Vanessa Wouters in 1996.
Then something-something about Tennessee. ;D
hehe Sorry for the editing; I'm not a fan of the Dispatch, but for sports, it's all we have.
