That had nothing to do with the NCAA committee.
It had EVERYTHING to do with the committee.

That's about as even as it gets.
87 kills each, 25 errors for OSU, 22 for UMinn. 4 aces, 16 errors for OSU, 6 and 15 for the Gophers. 97-93 digs in favor of Minnesota, 11 blocks each. Gophers hit .298, OSU .291. What a high quality match. Taatjes and Bowman, triple doubles again. Gordon will probably be MVP of the regional, but Taatjes was amazing this weekend as well and really sparked her team. 136-130 total points scored in favor of Minnesota.

How HUGE were Gordon and Bowman. Absolute money-time players.
And Bowman and Taatjes both with triple doubles. Whoa...
simplycurious[/glow] link=board=general&thread=1102809842&start=162#10 date=1102818904] See, that's what I'm talking about...how wants to see a rematch of one of the semifinals from last year? I want to see some different teams and match-ups when I go to the Final Four...not the same old ones! Oh well, Minnesota wins, so what am I to do?
It would've been nice to see Stacey and OSU there, but oh well. Minnesota earned their way and they deserve to be there, 2 gutsy performances on back to back nights(by both teams). If the final 4 matches are as good as some we've seen this weekend, then it doesn't matter who is playing, it will be fun to watch.

BTW, I'll be going to the Final Four, hope to see some of you Gopher fans there. I'll be decked out in Gator gear, shouldn't be hard to spot me.

Didn't see any mention of Jessy Jones coming in during games 4 and 5 to block Stacey out of the back row.
Pretty gutsy to stick a rarely used freshman in for games 4 of 5 of the regional final to block the best player in the nation. And it worked!

Wow.
Umm.... wow.
Just got back from the post-match reception we throw for/as the booster club. That was a fantastic match, and a great regional. Three five-game matches!!!
Gotta give credit to the Stacey Gordon. She is a fantastic player, and deserves national POY. Coach Hebert gave her all the credit in the world, and called her one of the all-around best players in NCAA history. I'm sad to see her go, but overjoyed that we (finally) won't have to play against her any more.
Maya Mapp was fantastic, too. She was basically unstopped by us. You've got to recognize Marisa Main at the same time -- hitters can't do their damage if the sets aren't there.
OSU dug up a storm. We weren't always hitting as well as we ought, but that ball just would.. not.. go.. down!
I'm a homer, so I've gotta give credit to the great golden Gophers, too. K-Bow and Taatjes both had back to back triple doubles! Combining the two nights, K-Bow had 21 kills, 88 assists, and 37 digs. Taatjes had 32 kills, 78 assists, and 36 digs. Taatjes hit a combined .460 over the regional!
Paula Gentil is just plain fantastic. 79 digs over the weekend, along with four of the Gopher's 11 aces.
Got to give credit to Mike, Boos, and Jill for coaching a heckuva match. Everyone around us was surprised at seeing Jessy Jones in for game four, but then we watched her stop the Stacey Kill Machine. Great call on his part, and a great performance by JJ.
Marty and Tree were ganged up on, but still came through when they had to (including Tree in the back row at the end of several matches). Marty had 151 swings for the night. Nellie and Jess Byrnes have shown that the Gopher middle needs to be respected -- .355 by Jess Byrnes, and .414 by Nellie.
It's down to two more matches this season. Whichever team wins two, wins it all.
