I'm curious why more schools do not stream games. Look at LSU - they had a live YouTube feed for each court, and you can toggle between courts. There must be some liability issue, or their agreement with Pac12 Network does not allow them to stream? It looks like Pac12 Network is only broadcasting beach volleyball for a month. Which, actually saves me money because I only have to get fuboTV or something for a month. I don't believe that (for Stanford) there is any liability issue or Pac-12 Network constraint*. I think they just don't bother. *When the Pac-12 isn't covering the meet.

Next weekend, the Cardinal take on conference rivals USC, UW, UO and ASU (again) in Santa Monica. Beating USC would be a major upset (though it is clear USC is beatable). Beating the unranked teams won't help Stanford's ranking, but can make their record look better, at least.

Yes, Stanford split, losing 1-4 to USC and beating UW 4-1.

I saw that second tweet. I too wondered if the scores were revised or if the reporting was revised.

Congratulations to Ekstrom/Villapando for taking down the USC 1s team in this morning's match. They played very well. Ekstrom was on her game. Not sure why SC isn't putting Halgren/Slater at #1.

Saw some of the Stanford players practicing in Manhattan and Sonny Villapondo looks very strong. They have Reilly, Harvey and Hodell coming in. They had many girls struggling last year but they are now getting some good players. Much hype over Ekstrom who seems to be up and down but she has a hammer of an arm and I saw her play well in the matches in LA. What happened to Ashkinos, she was good when she was younger and then did not hear much?

Tori Ashkinos played part of her freshman season on the Stanford #1 team with Ekstrom. She was on the #2s this year. Can't say she particularly stood out, but hoping she develops further. Hoping we have a full season next year.

Ashley Ivy Swift (Stanford '03), a former AVP regular, posted on facebook that she just played in a tournament with Maddi Kriz, class of '23.

Ah, Ashley Ivy. In 2001, she rattled off a bunch of points at the end of the first game with Nebraska in the tournament. Included were three funky left-handed aces jump-aces. Maybe my favorite Stanford VBall memory.
