I am very curious as to what the public think the hiring cycle is going to be like now, with fall sports for most being pushed to spring, are those coaches going to be furloughed until they can practice, what about the ones that already were? Will AD's be more willing to hold onto coaches going from a spring season to a fall season? Or do we think the current situation will have more coaches leave on their own, whether it be because of "lack of leadership" from the AD's or conferences, or because of health reasons. I really do find the economics of how the hiring cycle goes from year to year fascinating, and now a wrench has been thrown into the wheel and I am just curious as to how others view the upcoming year. Pretty safe to say for teams playing in the spring, coaches with contracts that end December/January will for the most part be extended. Through the Fall seems to make sense, but I guess we shall see.

I know times are tight ("unprecedented times" seems to be the phrase of the year), but if you can't afford to pay a head coach for a sport that is both practicing and recruiting, you're going to find yourself several years removed from being competitive again. Not that I wish it on anyone, but it might be time to cut the program at that point.
As for the hiring cycle, I think schools will be much less inclined to make a coaching change unless the situation is dire. Especially if we're talking about getting rid of a coach after a "spring 2021" season with summer recruiting about to start and the fall 2021 preseason right around the corner. Might have to just ride it out unless you have a solid replacement already lined up. Not much time to do a proper search and hiring process.

A native of Columbus, Sguerra graduated from The Ohio State University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. At OSU, she was a four-year member of the women's volleyball club and served as club president and team captain during her senior season. Can we take credit for a player that was on the club team? How does that work?
