Yes, they’ve won the league before back in 2007, I believe, under Coach Gibert. They have a nice volleyball specific gym. Part of the challenge of Lamar is that they are bordered on 3 sides by refineries and chemical plants. Location in Beaumont is not near “stuff” college kids might be looking for. I interviewed for a faculty job at Lamar when I was just finishing gradual school. People are impatient today. They would never hire someone from a gradual school.

She was going to be a temporary fill for this year with a search after season all along. I think initial posting was just to see who applied in case someone really stood out. I do not know if candidates from August need to reapply.

Tabor is open. Tread carefully. Interesting as HC was only in first year...

Olivet-Nazerene (NAIA, Illinois) posted for head coach for men/women's vb. Looks like it's for men's, women's and possibly teaching (while pursuing the goal of national championship). That's a lot on one plate...

I think the team worked hard for her, but she needs more time as an assistant before assuming a head coach role permanently. Volleyball IQ wasn't quite there yet. Nonetheless, tough gig. Low salary. Very limited scholarships. Small budget. Great people and good administration, but this program lags behind a number of other sports and will be a tough job for the most experienced coach/recruiter.

Although I do not see any official release, Jeff Baxter (Head Coach at U of Portland) is no longer listed on their staff.

Never let it be said that this AD is overly verbose.
