Nya Bunton and Sydney Helmers are both in 15s and are both top 10 recruits for the class of 2023. Nya is a 6’4” middle, and Sydney is a 6’2” OH! They’re both super good! Sydney is 6’3, she hasn’t spoken to Texas yet but it’s always a possibility. Interested in Pepperdine, Ohio state, and a few others.. Bunton is all over Nebraska and they are all over her.

So Nya is pretty much a lock for Nebraska then? I wouldn’t say that, since she can’t talk to them directly. But I know she went to hunker camp and since I live in the same city as her I’ve heard through club players and teammates of hers that she loves Nebraska. And I’ve heard from a source close to the Nebraska coaching staff that Nebraska is keeping a very close eye on her. She will be a very coveted 2023 MB for sure

http://instagram.com/p/B7i4oLCHtn9 Speaking of 2023 class. I don't know if she is a top recruit or not but her name is Maggie Mandelson. She is a 6'5 middle and she is one of the best. Reminds me of molly Phillips but she is already 6'5 and just a freshman. Going to be a great player to watch develop so we will see. Hopefully she is already on the Texas radar🤘🏽

She’s pretty quick for being a freshman and 6’5”! I have heard her name before!

Definitely should be a top recruit. Moves very well for being so tall and so young. Lots of girls that age and height usually move like baby giraffes.

Was wondering if Melanie Parra signed an LOI yet as I did not see any kind of official release from Texas about her signing . . .
Heinrich is a local product from the Austin Juniors club program. Iosia was a VolleyballMag.com 2019 girls high school All-American first-team pick. Parra, of Sinaloa, Mexico, has Mexico national-team experience, and inked with the Longhorns in March.

I'm guessing Maggie will be better suited for a program with less athletic, mobile middles.

For the 2012 2013 class, Texas only had one scholarship to award, and it was gobbled up by Chloe Collins pretty early in the process. Not sure how it all went down, but the summer of 2011 2012, Texas had a scholarship free up. Soon afterward, Chiaka Ogbogu committed.
I know Nwanebu had wanted to leave the state for college, but if all 3 of them for the 2012 2013 class had signed with Texas out of high school, things could have turned out differently in so many ways . . .
