We all expect 3, possibly 4 redshirts this season- I'm wondering if that's the wave of the future? Seeing how much super-seniors have contributed to their respective teams since Covid Redshirting will not be the wave of the future for Texas or anyone else. The best players want to play, generally. Texas can get away with it sometimes because other factors are perceived as much greater than what is available elsewhere, but that won't always be the case. Basically Texas recruited both 2023 and 2024 in one class. That's what you should wonder if it's the wave of the future, and my opinion is a strong no. To me the key is being able to use the portal to adjunct the current roster successfully. Texas did really well prior to 2022. Wenaas and Barnes are both quality pickups for 2023, but they don't quite compare to Ewert, Akana, Caffey, Skinner, Bergmark, and Fleck in 2022, plus SKT the year before. Then you have to find a way to keep a strong culture even when bringing in transfers. Last year's team was lights out in culture. Apparently this year's team is, too. If there's resentment and bitterness behind the scenes that can be a cancer in all kinds of ways. Especially in recruiting, but on the court, too.

This all seems rather dramatic. If Harvey/Spears love Texas, I doubt they'll be like "Well I can't see myself there because this starting lineup of players who for the most part won't be there when I arrive just lost to Stanford at home"

"Dramatic" is what some posters on here live for!

If Harvey/Spears love Texas, I doubt they'll be like "Well I can't see myself there because this starting lineup of players who for the most part won't be there when I arrive just lost to Stanford at home" I hope this logic is spot on, more generally speaking. The Badgers had a guest in the house and tried their hardest to give up a reverse sweep. Tennessee said "no way" and hit a match point out of bounds to bail the Badgers out. This sure is a crazy year already.
A couple of uncommitted recruits will be attending badgervb match today: ... and Suli Davis, a 6-2 OH from Euless, Texas. Davis is ranked No. 9 recruit in 2025 class by PrepDig and No. 6 by PrepVolleyball.

PRAYER CANDLES LIGHT THEM UP MY HORN FANS did something happen Probably good advice generally. I have missed our social media sleuths. Horns1 has been absent for the most part this season. A commitment from either Spears or Harvey would make me so happy.

Hard rumor that spears is leaning Wisconsin 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 DONT DO IT GIRL. Spears or Davis would both be excellent fits for UW. There will be lots of PT opportunities potentially at the pins for the Badgers in 2025. So I am not surprised that either of them are strongly considering UW, which would make a lot of sense. A commit from either in Madison would give their recruiting class an amazing front line at OH, MB and RS. VanderWal would have looked great in UW red...oh well.
