Stoop? I’m just being silly. I’m sympathetic to fans upset about switches, that’s all. In this case we’re the beneficiaries, so I’m reveling in it, but I’ve been on the other side. It sucks. My bad. I just get anxious when comparisons to the lexi situation get brought up. I’m a lot less anxious about it now than I was when it happened. I conjured apocalyptic visions back then. Texas would never be able to recruit an aspiring 6 rotation OH ever again. Lexi Sun would lead Nebraska to 3 national championships and then become a modern day Jordan Larson, digging and passing balls, and terminating attacks for Olympic teams for the next 20 years. And then we got Eggleston and Sun’s career fizzled out her Covid year and now she’s out of volleyball. I sincerely wish her well in all her endeavors but as a Texas fan I’m not sad she’s part of the group the NCAA likes to say that went pro in something other than sports. |

I know that players' videos make them look all-world because in some settings they're the best player on either side of the court.
But to see so many slides, it does warm my heart.
And she's playing for Drive Nation, which confirms someone else's statement about not playing for TAV. And since she's enrolling in Jan 24, backs up an IG post of her hugging her club team and saying last run for her with them.

She is super-quick on the slide and with her swing. I was not looking forward to her and Jackson pairing up in the middle for Nebraska. Glad she decided to switch to Texas.

That's a huge get and totally unexpected! I would assume that playing time is probably part of her consideration too since she might not get the starting spot next year at Nebraska. And that also explains why NE has been recruiting Taylor Harvey. Both Taylor Harvey and Ayden Ames attended Nebraska's match at the football stadium a couple of months ago; and, I believe Harvey had visited Nebraska in the summer; so, I don't think that's the reasoning for pursuing Harvey; she's worth pursuing no matter who's already on your roster. |

It is interesting looking at recruit's social media. I'm glad they don't take postings down. But it is bemusing to see her and her parents decked out in Nebraska gear and celebrating her commitment and then presto-magico have her and her parents in burnt orange celebrating her change of plans announcement. (I don't snag pictures from individual's SM since it's their property)
AND, I've always told newbies to volleyball that recruits rarely ever flip and not this close to signing day. Wow, something must have gone down.
Yes, I haven't seen top recruits flip especially rivals too. Anybody else done this? That got me thinking all day about which recruits flipped to Texas in the past. I could only come up with Chiaka Ogbogu who flipped from Berkeley to Texas the summer right before her senior season at Coppell. That set the standard! |

Disappointed for Nebraska on Ames. Glad she did pick a competitive team to transfer too. Wish her all the best.
