So with the recruit of Ames, does this likely take Harvey off the table? If she doesn’t chose Texas, I hope she goes to Stanford. Nebraska seems already way too stacked at MB. Harvey is 2025 Yes, I’m aware of that, but by 2025 we’d have 4 MB’s on scholarship if you included Harvey — Singletary, Bunton, Ames, and Harvey. I don’t see 2 highly recruited MB’s sitting on the bench. |

I firmly believe part of this move is because we’re out on Harvey. I’m guessing it’s down to Stanford and Nebraska, with Stanford favored atm. Maybe. But, our coaching staff wouldn't have said 'no' to either 2024 Ames or 2025 Harvey if they both wanted to come. Without blinking, you take the in-state Ames as she would sign next week. If that impacts Harvey, there's plenty of time to find another MB for the 2025 season, if necessary. I’m not suggested we would’ve said no to either. just suggesting that we most likely got declined by Harvey so we turned our full focus onto flipping Ayden |

Whether we got declined by 2025 Harvey (recently) or not, most of us have acknowledged that we needed another MB for the 2024 season. While we assumed that would be via the transfer portal in order to gain collegiate experience at the position, I truly believe Ames re-initiated contact with our coaching staff recently and there wasn't much work needed to convince her to flip our way as she was most likely already very familiar with Texas; sometimes good things just fall into your lap when you aren't even trying. It's a testament to the reputation of our program, coaching staff, and culture. |

I think this was for sure more of Ames' doing. We would have gotten a clue from Hunt or Jerritt's social media activities but ZERO clue this was happening until she posted about it a week before signing.

I assume if a player says ‘thank you for welcoming me with open arms’ it was something that changed on her side for some reason. It HAS to be the announced European trip in May 2024! I know that players who won't start school until June or August of 2024 are allowed to join that trip (and have it paid for by the school!). Also, I think players who have exhausted their eligibility get to come along for the fun (I think).
I'll be on that junket as a fan. The only questions I'm going to bug each hitter about, which I will post on VT, is "What's your opinion on finger tape? Why did you do it? And does it help in any way?"
I needs to know!
