Stanford seniors are once in a lifetime winners. They know how to win and are led by Morgan Hentz. Player of the Year. It’s mind boggling that she can set the digs record by being behind a formidable block for 4 years. Stanford block funnels every OH cross court. And that seems to be a rather successful strategy...

So how many teams make the tournament? My guess is Stanford, Washington, Utah, USC, UCLA, California and Washington State all get in. California and WSU are on the bubble. ASU is the only other eligible team and I don’t think they get in.

Finalized. WSU beats Washington. WSU gets fifth by themselves.

I don't think May will win conference POY because UCLA finished fourth but I am very impressed with her improvement this year. In terms of conference stats only, her overall numbers are better than Lanier, Drews and Bajema. Among the four players, she is second in kills per game, block per game and digs per game. Her ace per game is much better than the other 3 and her hitting percentage is an amazing .296, the highest among all outside hitters

I don't think May will win conference POY because UCLA finished fourthWe have seen in the past that this does not matter much, except maybe in the case where teams did very well and they gave the setter the POY. For COY it does seem to matter a lot where teams finish, but more in the sense of "exceeding expectations" rather than the final placement.

I can see Gray or Hentz winning POY.

Is USC making the tournament? I guess the season sweep of UW will do it?

I really cannot remember the last time the conference POY was not from the top 3 teams IMO this is a matter of cross-correlation. Top teams tend to have the best players. The best players tend to win awards. So the awards tend to go to players on the top teams.

WSU getting into the top 50 gives them another top 50 win. They're close to the bubble, but they're safely in now imo.

This was, in 25 years of following Pac-12 conference VB, one of THE most up-and-down, unpredictable & topsy-turvy seasons to me. Due to a plethora of injuries, the PAC was a ride this year!
