ASU - no. Cal - possibly.. they have 2 T25 wins which should work in their favor.. but they are absolutely on the bubble... it's a waiting game for them to see what the Committee does. Cal is in. WSU getting into the top 50 gives them another top 50 win. They're close to the bubble, but they're safely in now imo. I'm still waiting for FigStats to update so haven't seen that move by WSU yet.. but I agree if that is the case.

Goes to show how those conferences dominate the tourney (again)

I quoted it elsewhere but here are the rules for the awards (as of last year's PAC-12 Handbook):
Coaches vote. Can't vote for themselves or their own players. Players must have played in at least 2/3 of their team's conference matches. Coaches nominate players from their teams.
All-conference team -- Coaches rank players from #1 to #20. Votes are worth 20 points for #1, 19 points for #2, etc. Top 18 players by points are on the all-conference team. Next up-to-18 are honorable mentions. Player with the most points is POY.
All-freshman team -- Coaches rank players from #1 to #7. Votes are worth 7 points for #1, 6 points for #2, etc. Top 7 players by points are on the all-freshman team. Player with the most points is FOY.
Setter -- Coaches vote #1 and #2. #1 gets 3 points, #2 gets 1 point. Player with the most points is SOY. Libero -- Coaches vote #1 and #2. #1 gets 3 points, #2 gets 1 point. Player with the most points is LOY. Coach -- Coaches vote #1 and #2. #1 gets 3 points, #2 gets 1 point. Coach with the most points is COY.
The ballots are distributed by the conference and list the nominated players along with their stats.
Awards to be announced Monday.
I believe the academic team awards come directly from the Conference.

Three Cougars on the all-freshman team.

From the conference press release:
"Gray is the second Cardinal to win the top setter honor three times in the nine-year history of the award after former Cardinal Madi Bugg won it from 2013-25".
That would be 13 times in a row....

Also in the press release, in the paragraph about Magda Jehlárová they use the "á", but everywhere else they use "a". I wonder if this means it was written by different people.

But neither got the R so... Good point. I just fixed that in this post. I don't plan on using those marks every time, but it seems like in a post where she's being honored as Freshman Of The Year I should bother to actually spell her name correctly.

In my experience expectations of foreigners having any inkling of Czech orthography are quite low, so it may make her day that you did.

I didn't realize that the conference already announced the all-academic team. I was looking for a new announcement.
