a lot of transfers will wait until after the NCAAT is over....for reasons with their current team and to see how potential landing sites are...

I suspect it's because it's not public information, and the general thinking is kids have the right to announce for themselves if/when they decide to transfer (or enter the portal, which is not the same thing in all cases as transferring). I don't understand. The SA asks to be put into the transfer portal, but then they can also request that it not be made public until a certain date? Sorry, I don't really know the process yet. No need to apologize - it's all pretty new! The only people with access to the information in the portal are coaches and NCAA compliance staff. It is NOT announced publicly, unless the student athlete does it him/herself (they often do, but sometimes they don't.). The information is not intended to be shared publicly, though sometimes it is (usually via the typical means - a coach tells someone, who then posts it, or an AAU coach knows that a former player is transferring and wants to make it known, etc.). There is no mechanism by which information in the portal gets made public automatically. It requires a human to do it. Sometimes humans do it even when they are not authorized to do (like a coach or a teammate), because people are people.

It's a common misconception. Sun does not move -- it is earth that moves. That makes it look like sun is moving.

I couldn't resist going to google for the details ... the earth moves around the sun at 67,000 mph, the sun moves around the center of the milky way galaxy at 483,000 mph, and the galaxy is moving at 515,000 mph.

Gosh mike I guess the sun does move although we all are victims of relativity.

You left out galaxy movement relative to ? Could it be some frame of reference billions of light years away?
