Last year, it seemed that players in the transfer portal almost instantly disappeared from the team's online roster. So far, I don't notice any changes online. Heck - Penn State didn't update their 2019 online roster until sometime in August. The range of how quick programs update their website is rather large. If one takes the time to monitor each online roster - they will see some BIG names already dropped from rosters. I appreciate the hint, but there are too many B1G teams to sort through them all. Narrow it to four schools to review and I'll do the rest of the legwork.

So Kansas’ roster currently has 7 people on it. Is this from transfers or just an error? It's the 2020 roster; it doesn't have the incoming freshman on it. Looks like Kansas will be hitting the restart button.
I can see different schools of thought, but it seems smart of Kansas to post the new roster as soon as possible. I'm sure that everyone on the Kansas team already knows what's up so there doesn't seem to be any downside to getting the info out there. And updating the roster now lets players on other teams know that there might be opportunities and may motivate potential replacements to enter the portal.

Agree, its not like people don't know that Kansas under performed this year or that they have a good big recruiting class coming in next year. Their roster was too big and an adjustment of some sort was inevitable. I only followed them this year to see Sara Nielson get a chance to start, and she did.

so in the portal info sheet about a SA is there no field you can put in your position? That is hard to believe as this is important to know for programs looking

Dec. 6 UpdateSetter: Mylana Byrd (6'1" JR) - Alabama to ? Setter: Shea Fuller (5’11” FR) - SLU to ? Fuller was a senior ACE “the 150” Byrd was a “just missed” senior ACE not a lot of setter transfers. It’s weird because in football it seems like QBs are the most common transfer. last year Kylee McLaughlin was a prominent setter transfer. Like Fuller she was also a senior ACE “the 150”. I’ll bet someone has already composed a list of transfers each season but it would be interesting to see which positions in volleyball transfer the most.

Just when DePaul had a bit of success this season the rumor is there is a bit of a mutiny going on. 4 seniors move on, 3 others in the portal and a disappointing recruiting class along with some whispers of NCAA non compliance. Seems St. John’s may have an NCAA issue again to boot. Meanwhile Creighton is giving the Gophers all they can handle.

Dec. 6 UpdateSetter: Mylana Byrd (6'1" JR) - Alabama to ? If anyone is surprised by this, they aren’t paying attention. Byrd was a starter last year and this year, with a new coach and new Fr setter, did not see much court time. You could see this one coming from a mile away, imo. She did a nice job for Bama as a freshman, playing the front row in their 5-2 alignment. Never saw her play back row, so perhaps there were some shortcomings there. But she could be a very nice pick up for someone.

Too many times over too many years for it to be an innocent mistake. It's a cost of doing business for St. John's. A strategy. Coach is a straight up cheater. Besides recruiting and eligibility violations with players who actually signed, others have been left out in the cold as victims of over-recruiting manipulations. At least St. John's has had some success with it. Illinois tried with the Croatian professional who had the FIVB steroids suspension, but Illinois fumbled the whole thing, including the recruit being less than expected. Credit St. John's with better skills at doing bad.

where does this end? too many transfers and majority everyone looking for a scholarship. what are their parents teaching them? Dumb Generation with that said, they should at least put what position they are in the portal I'm trying to figure out what your argument is. Should they NOT be looking for a scholarship? If not, then why do you think that? Also, athletes are not in control of what information is put into the portal (neither are their coaches). The NCAA has decided what information goes in, and usually the university's compliance person inputs that information. merely a comment or two, and a suggestion, maybe you should read again.....lol

Does anyone know when we will be able to see who the previously mentioned Arizona, Kansas, Mississippi State, etc. players are? Is there a reason their names are not being added here? I suspect it's because it's not public information, and the general thinking is kids have the right to announce for themselves if/when they decide to transfer (or enter the portal, which is not the same thing in all cases as transferring).

I don't understand. The SA asks to be put into the transfer portal, but then they can also request that it not be made public until a certain date? Sorry, I don't really know the process yet.
