Some of you, Shade. Saige is a great player and a great person. Congratulations and Good Luck. I don’t know if this is in reference to my comment. What I was saying is SKT isnt Carlini. Carlini is a setter that makes any team better. SKT is fantastic, but it’s not like she’s a huge upgrade to jhenna. To insinuate that her going to Texas, makes them auto favorites and jerrit is a loser if he doesn’t win, just simply not true because a monkey could lead them to the title. Regardless if SKT went there or not, Texas should of been the odds on favorite. That was my point. So basically if jerrit doesn’t win, regardless of who’s setting he’s a loser

I told y'all Elliott's interest was genuine. As for Cabello, nothing has changed. If she is the best setter in the gym, she will start.

Did I say that anyone said, "she wasn't a great player or she wasn't a great person?" By implying that posters were throwing shade you certainly did!!!! Again... never said that. I'm just reading some comments, giving shade to Saige, not sure why people feel compelled to state illogical statements because she is transferring to Texas. I mean no one knows why Texas offered and she accepted. I'm just congratulating her.

There’s no excuse for Texas not to win next season’s Natty. Why? Do people really think STK is that big of an upgrade to Gabriel? I don’t. She didn’t stand out in the Pac-12 this past year. Also, setting wasn’t why Texas didn’t win the NC last year anyway. They hit over .300 against Kentucky, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Penn State... how anyone can look at that offense and think setting was an issue for this team seems kinda silly.

SKT is better than Gabriel, and although Gabriel has improved tremendously, a few mistakes on her location especially OOS and our inability to time our block against Kentucky's offense was the reason we lost *by a hair*. Granted, we don't even know and she might just be transferring for academics anyways. Besides...the difference between Austin and Salt Lake City (not to be rude) is quite striking.

But these are critiques at the margins. The idea that STK could come in and NOT make some of those same mistakes is just wishful thinking. The totality of the level played for Texas was actually very very good, and they win the championship but for Kentucky putting the ball away just a few more times more than Texas. Sure Texas’ defense could have been a bit better, but then so could have Kentuckys! You can pick apart even the best setters. There were times Hilley was sub par in the tournament, Lilley was literally yanked from a match just last year. You could pick apart any setter in almost any match for mistakes on location. Re timing the block, ok, fine, but is STK some master timer of the block? I guess if you wanna believe that. Washington didn’t do any better against the Kentucky offense, and we have a pretty darn good blocking team. Frankly, I just don’t see how a perceived marginal upgrade at setter changes the championship match.

What if I told you Elliott doesn't want to have to switch block because opposing OHs are hitting over his 5'6 setter? Sometimes it really is just that simple.
