I'll take Cincy, and put Thompson at around 8 kills per set.

Cincy will win IMO. Good mid-major battle to decide who gets fed to the Panthers. Will be fun to see how Thompson does against the best blocking team in D1.

Wow how many years has VCU lead the nation in blocks ? What is it that they are doing resulting in such good blocking

They averaged 3.21 blocks/set this season. In their 4 matches against NCAA tourney teams (UCSB, BYU, Dayton, Dayton) they averaged 3.08. Not that much of a drop off. 17 blocks in 4 sets against BYU tells me they’re a pretty good blocking team.

They have 3 great MBs. Top of the list is Jasmine Sneed, who leads the country in blocks. Only 6’ tall. All legs and long arms. Extremely athletic. Quick off her feet. Out of TX but was and unranked recruit out of high school. And her hands are HUGE. Her fingers go on forever. She is thin, not big. Other than adding 2-3 inches, she has everything you would put in a blocker if you could draw one up. And, her athleticism takes over for those couple inches. She’s a senior and their grad transfer Jackson is the second MB. They might not lead the countr6 in blocks next year, but will have the third MB Young back.

She played at Virginia for 3 years (plus one redshirt season) before transferring to VCU as a grad student this year.

Jordan Thompson will do her best to keep the AAC train rolling in the postseason and push the conference to 4-1!

Jordan Thompson will do her best to keep the AAC train rolling in the postseason and push the conference to 4-1! Thompson makes this for me one of the most intriguing first-round games this year. If VCU's block is all it's cracked up to be, they just might be the perfect foil for Cincinnati.

Jordan Thompson should be NCAA player of the year, without her CIncy doesn't win 10 games total. This is a terrible team outside of her

Here in person, and man VCUs blockers get up. They're a pretty short team but their block is as solid as any I've seen.
