With only two players coming in next year, this is a very thin roster for UH. 13 players total. Hoping UH can stay healthy next year...

If they held an intrasquad scrimmage, Mylana Byrd would play setter for one team. So, who played setter for the other team?

True, I'm sure there will be another wave of transfers during the summer. For DS and libero, seems like Ah Mow is not gonna let "every" walk on make the team like how we would have 5-6 walk on DS in the past.

Crazy to think in Dave's years, the Wahine would have an abundance of back row players!

We have 3 new players coming in next year: Mylana Byrd (who's already with the team this spring), Kate Lang, Anna Kiraly. We lost 6: McKenna Ross, Norene Iosia, Bailey Choy, Rika Okino, Kirsten Sibley, and Kamalei Krug (quit team; beach only). We're okay at all the positions except L/DS. We only have Kyra Hanawahine and Janelle Gong. We need an upgrade here. We have two setters, six hitters, and four middles (if Tiffany Westerberg does double duty as both OH and MH). I think we'll be okay.

Just a thought. Hawaii's women's volleyball program has always used only numbers 1 thru 20, as far as I can remember. No 0 or 21 up. Don't know whether it's Shoji's idea or what the case maybe. I can recall there was a year just recently where all 20 numbers were used. Maybe during McKenna Ross's years where she wore number 20. This coming year with currently 14 players accounted for, it is a far cry from the 20 players Shoji days. But got to keep the bachi injury bug away, then they'll have more quality playing time.

Exactly, that was my thought. Ah Mow doesn't want DS, but wants to have outsides that pass well enough that they can still be options in the back row.

If they held an intrasquad scrimmage, Mylana Byrd would play setter for one team. So, who played setter for the other team? I saw a video on instagram and Puna Kaniho was playing right back on one side. He set at GCU so wouldn't be all that surprising.
